Saw you throwing Lind's name around yesterday. Know anything or just two guys you'd like to see. - TheSabresTaco
Vancouver has to move some Celery, Suter has some connections, and to take his cap Lind. Plus he wouldn't be a bad for defensive purposes. |

I see we're talking about Sutter, not Suter.
Why don't we just pay Larry 2.8-3M.

Well, Guerin had between 17-20 teams to deal with, for all intents and purposes. Not sure if TBL, NYI or DAL were on his NTL.
Now, let's look at the 20 worst teams that would make sense for Staal, as Staal's said before that he would continue to put playoff teams on his his NTL.
Teams looking for a 2C trying to win (compete) now: BUF, SJS, NYR, WPG, FLA
In all liklihood, these are the most obvious teams. We know BUF wasn't on the NTL, but any one of these four could have been. There's also a chance Guerin didn't want to deal within the division or the conference. Leaves Buffalo, New York and Florida. New York already got rid of him, I don't really see him fitting what they're trying to do there. So you're down to Buffalo and Florida.
The closest type of player, multipositional and has a contract is Noel Acciari. Quite a different player than Mojo and less offensively effective. If Guerin thinks Mojo can play top 6C, then god bless. - TheSabresTaco
Even accepting a soft market, why not just keep him if it doesn't make you better (it doesn't). Could have done way better at the TDL
I know Guerin said ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "gotta do something"
Idk, not our problem but just really dumb |

“Eric’s always a positive influence on guys, but sometimes change is good for us. This is part of it,” Guerin said. “We need to mix things up, we need to find a different pathway to success. And that’s what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to build a better team and sometimes you have to take some drastic measures.
“If I don’t make moves, nothing will happen. We’ll just stay the same, and that’s not the idea.”

I'd sincerely love to see the backup on this opinion.
I personally don't believe that, but, I'm willing to be proved wrong.

The next sentence better be "The idea is to get much, much worse. We think bjuicehead and Marcus will provide that down the middle" |

I think it makes absolute sense but I know it won’t happen.
Staal and Skinner are going to get heavy offensive zone usage.
The third line would effectively be the matchup line. Larry in that role would be ideal however I would settle for McCann/Kerfoot as well. |

Just who I heard was talked about, Sabres have talked about him before. His name was brought up a few years back with Domi before Domi was traded to Montreal, but some owner wouldn't pay the bonus so that trade got nixed. |

I found ROR's bonus. It's in the hull.

With their combined cap hit compared to their actual salary, it makes much more sense for Arizona to keep them. |

Sutter's cap hit is $4.375M this season while his actual salary is $3.5M, assuming Vancouver paid his $1M salary bonus.
Overall, I agree, as Larsson is better than Sutter and would cost less.
No thanks on Sutter. |

Hey man. Can you do a quick analysis of Sutter vs Larry.
Who's individually the more effective player?

Sutter is not better.
He is marginally better offensively, at best, and absolutely worse defensively.
Not too mention Sutter has played 61, 26, and 44 games the past three seasons while Larsson has played 80, 73, and 62.
Larsson also just turned 28 this past July while Sutter will turn 32 in February.
No thank you on Sutter. |

The ideal player in that 3C role is Andrew Copp. |

Larsson, 5v5 defense with, -18% (good). Without 0% (eh)
Larsson PK defense with, +8% (fine). Without, +15% (less than fine)
Sutter, 5v5 defense with, +8% (not good). Without, +8%. Also not good.
Sutter PK defense with, +8% (fine). Without, +14% (less than fine)
Larsson has a better 5v5 defensive impact than Sutter at around half the cost. They're both ineffective on the PP. Offense for Larsson is -15% (bad) and offense for Sutter is -12% (bad).
For the money, Larsson is the clear winner. Even if he makes a million more.

Another dandy little data point. The team is excessively better at the PK with Eichel on the ice rather than without. |

Your taking Sutter to get Lind, that is the whole idea, Lind would fit nicely at RW. |
