Its interesting, there are truly gifted musicians but even they have to practice an absurd amount. If you truly love something, you can get good at it even without ability. Terrible cooks generally hate cooking and have never put the time into figuring out how things work. - winsix
Malmsteen, Vai, Becker all used to practice 12-15 hours/day. I’m sure all the greats did.

I started a few years ago on guitar. I simply had no time and had other interests. It is on my list of retirement things to do

What’s unexpected is the complexity of their writing and chord structures and the way the complexity of simple, pop sounding songs. - Canada Cup
This is one of my favorites from one of the best periods for the the Dead. Before D!ck's Picks came along this was near the top for tapers. Excellent bass and guitar picking. Truly excellent playing when you consider its live and no overdubs.

Feels that way after watching the movie way too many times. - Garnie
You have to try to get to a Dead and Company concert if you ever get the chance. As close as you can get to a Grateful Dead concert. Once the music starts, no one is sitting.

I’m guessing they only play in Murica?
They’re too strict on who they let in.... - Garnie
They haven't been to Toronto for some time. ( I think the last show was 1991 at Copps Colesium) Great show
About 10 years ago when Weir and Lesh were touring as Furthur they played the Ottawa Blues Festival at LeBreton Flats Park. If and when they tour again, Buffalo and Upstate NY are regular stops. Phil Lesh has a restaurant and bar in Saint Raphael California, he plays there regularly with his sons and Weir shows up once in a while. It's called the Terrapin Crossroads. Phil doesn't tour much anymore

Damn that would have been fun to see. I grew up more of a Rush fan.
