They sucked under Keefe because they played the same stupid, unsustainable style that loses in the playoffs.
They missed the playoffs because they weren't good enough. Every team had to deal with the COVID bullpoop. It wasn't just the Leafs. The Leafs simply lack work ethic and resiliency and at least half of that is because Keefe isn't the right guy.
Don't worry, in a couple years you'll see the light when you start female doging about Keefe like you did about Babcock just the same way you thought Babcock was a God when he first came here. - JohnFergusonJr
Again, better with Keefe than Babcock in every categhory.

I’ve never been to a real soccer game. I’d like to go sometime.
I watched the Man City one a couple years ago, not sure who I like more now.. Probably Man City tbh.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I've been to a few over the years.
Arsenal, Wimbledon, Millwall.
Millwall was the highlight - although I was terrified the whole time I was going to accidentally cheer for the visiting team and get shived. |

So in your opinion he was very good this year?
Again, he had the same issues in Anaheim - RogerRoeper
He was expected to stand on his head more often than usual (which was already too much) because the team in front of him was defensively terrible and lacked work ethic half the time.
He had no issues in Anaheim other than Gibson being better than him. When the Leafs draft a prospect like Gibson (Leafs draft pick by the way), then we can talk about replacing Andersen.
So hope Askarov falls to 15th but keep praying. |

Nope but keep dreaming.
Making the playoffs > not making the playoffs is a "categhory" Keefe failed in. |

6M x 7 for Brodin.
Sounds like alot to me. - Scabeh
It's a ridiculous contract in this situation by a team that has signed more than a few regrettable deals. Spurgeon, Zuccarello and Parise.

That's still really good. Andersen can't score on the other goalies too. - Zezel
sure he can, once the other goalie has been pulled.

The team 100% quit on babs.
Like a bunch of babies.
Of course they’d be better under a new coach, but they still missed the playoffs. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Quitting on Babs was the reason they missed the playoffs though.. They were out of a playoff spot completely when Babs was fired.. I believe they were 10th in the East..
In a regular year, they would have made the playoffs but it was too much of a hill to climb out of for a shortened regular season and because of that, they got stuck having to try to win a play-in round |

And that needs to end. The model of player a starter 65 games is done with. Leafs can't continue that. That's why they got Campbell.
Campbell should play minimum 30 in a full year. - RogerRoeper
65 is high.
But out of 70 games played, 7 goalies played 50 + games.
Another 10 goalies played 42 plus games.
So over half the leagues starters would finish the year with well 50 plus games.
So top end starters still would have done 60 - 64 games.
Campbell did play 26 games last year and 31 the year prior.
He could handle the load |

Again, my main reasoning for wanting Andersen gone are contractual. - RogerRoeper
If the Leafs can re-up Anderson (1-2 yr) for the same cap hit. I'd be ok with it |

Except for playoffs berths..
They quit. It was a testament to their immaturity. It’s a country club atmosphere in Toronto. |

Andersen had the same #s and was 0-4 in playoff elimination games in Anaheim.
How come other goalies on bad defensive teams have good numbers?

Statistically, he had his worst season this year.. I can't recall too many games where Andersen 'stole' a victory. I like Andersen, but they hopefully can find a cheaper option that can play 45-55 games.. |

Ok, sure.
But the leafs are pretty sh!t on defense. So cherry picking stats doesn't really mean anything.

His contract isn’t an issue, at all.
Maybe if they didn’t blow their load on nylander (and marner and tavares to a lesser extent) they’d have better defence to play in front of Freddy. |
