The idea that a young player with Nylander's ceiling could be signed for 4 million is absurd. Is Nylander overpaid? Sure... That's a result of the situation the leafs were in with 3 high talent players with contracts nearly expiring together. He's not nearly as overpaid as Marner is.
Keller and Ehlers are good comparables, even Hischier.. and Nylander is close to in the middle of them.
Again, Phil Kessel won back to back cups in this league... It's not about one player. It's when you pitch opinions as fact that you'll start to get the Max/Uggie comparisons. Your opinions are not fact...

He's had a couple odd injuries. Freaky really... But he's plenty good and on a not good team ... he plays tough minutes against top comp. only signed for 4.1 for 2 more yrs..

Two of the worst trades made in the majors in the last decade have to be Fisher for Sanchez and Biagini (the clip below is from Fisher's first game as a Jay i believe) and the Hap for McKinney and Drury (both are no longer Jays)

That's you're takeaway from me saying he's moderately overpaid, it was a situational signing, and I would give him that number again? That equates to me going from he has the best contract in the league to he's absurdly overpaid?
You are in full uggie mode now, I'm trying to give you some credibility but once I start feeling like I'm having to yank said credibility back out of the toilet its over.
Someone doesn't hate Nylander with you, it doesn't have spiral into this kind of over the top dramatic preteen mess.

He's an embarrassment - the only reason he is still on the team is Atkins and Shapiro don't want to own up to trading two good pitchers for this sack of sh!t.

So is Pietrangelo worth it at $9M if cap doesn’t go up for 3 or 4 years and only goes up slowly after that? At some point he slows down but $9M becomes ok in a bigger cap world. - Canada Cup
