Two of the worst trades made in the majors in the last decade have to be Fisher for Sanchez and Biagini (the clip below is from Fisher's first game as a Jay i believe) and the Hap for McKinney and Drury (both are no longer Jays)
- winsix
My biggest peeve trade they made was the Donaldson trade. I don't care if the guy is pitching well right now, though it is a very welcome surprise.
It was still an awful trade. Trade a former MVP for a 27 year old minor leaguer that had never played in the majors and was heading for Tommy John surgery.
Especially since trading Donaldson was their plan the entire time and multiple highly respected reporters said that St. Louis offered Flaherty before the season started.

He's an embarrassment - the only reason he is still on the team is Atkins and Shapiro don't want to own up to trading two good pitchers for this sack of sh!t. - winsix
He's shook. Just let a ball roll by him.
My dad keeps saying the same thing every time I talk to him about Fisher. They're trying not to lose face.

Lol..
I remember when I was the only one bumping Nylander trades, now it’s all the rage
Since I’m literally always right, I’m telling you’s, NO ONE WANTS NYLANDER. Especially on that contract. They will never get what the perceive to be fair value for him, they’ll have to retain half his salary or something. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Summer 2019 called, they want their Nylander hot take back.
You keep tossing UG and Max (still better than Santo) comparisons around like I’m supposed to be insulted or something.. 😒
I’m not a fan of Willy, I was at first but he soured on me. You do you, I’ll do me. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Im not expecting nor do I care to insult you, I'm just trying to subtly let you know that you're acting like a petulant child and are capable of far better. 🤷♂️

I agree, the Donaldson trade was bad. This management team does not reward loyalty. Donaldson was a great Jay and should still be here.

I don't disagree that I'd have liked for the Jays to keep him. But if the plan was indeed to move on, then you better damn well accept the trade offered of a young, top of the rotation type, pitcher.
Guaranteed you're not gonna get a better offer than that.

What about a decent defenseman and a high pick? The Ducks #6 could be a very good pick, Drysdale if he's there or Askarov.. - winsix
I would consider it, from a cap-savings point of view. I dont think it can be done though because that pick becomes way more valuable in the flat cap and the on-going uncertainty going forward.

i hated that they tried to milk Donaldson by waiting and waiting. He ended the previous year well if I remember correctly and instead of dealing him then they figured the trades would get hotter during the season. Absolutely backfired on them.

Problem is/was that they held onto Donaldson for too long. The injuries piled up and his value decreased

Absolutely. And it was foolish even at the time. No hindsight required.
Their plan from the get go was to trade him. They never even explored the option of keeping him around.
So since that was the plan, then why the poop wouldn't you take the young starting pitcher that (I think, don't remember) was one of the top pitching prospects in Baseball at the time? Pure stupidity not to.
