To my eye, he is smallish, not great on the D side, fair on the Offensive side. Not what the Leafs need. JMO
Leafs need some old fashion Dmen. Stay at home, block some shots, make a good first pass out of their zone. Nothing special or fancy. Be great if the guy could fight. - bixll
Sounds like we agree for the most part, except I would be willing to buy low on Dumba |

Where do you rank him compared to:
Manson (Komisarek)
Tanev✔️(Warrior)
Gudas (too many penalties)
Demelo❌
Savard✔️🥇
Hamonic✔️
Dillon✔️ but LHD
Murphy❌
Vatanen❌ - mr.sir
Id take DeMelo, Dillon, Gudas, and Hamonic from that group. Savard will cost too much, is aging(will be 30 in a few weeks), and needs a new deal after next year, pass.
Dumba really isnt very good. It would have to be a cheap asset trade for him IMO.

DeMelo and Hamonic would be fantastic adds for the Leafs..
I like the idea of adding Gudas, he might still be able to scare off or intimidate opposing forwards. |

So brodin at 6m per.
Doesnt look like players will be taking too much of a pay cut this off season as some expected, based off this.
Lebrun was saying that his contract is backloaded, the first two years are 4 and 5m per, maybe we see more contracts like this?
Dunno, we'll see. - Fakepartofme
So at what price does Pietrangelo stop making sense, huh Mr. Psycho Killer?

What is the special at the restaurant today Bobby? - bixll
Not so busy theses days so we stick to the menu, less labour cost, less food cost. Although today supposed to be really nice so the patio might be hopping. |

Robertson is a nice surprise. Playing with house money there. So package him with one of those tool bags like Dermott or Holl and get the D you need. - DrunkenCanuck
I think you're the first person to suggest this.
It's actually a pretty interesting idea. |

Not at all what we need and would likely need to overpay |

I'd be really reluctant to move out young, cheap skill especially when we don't expect cap growth in a while |

If we got him, he would be our best RHD. From what I have seen, Demelo does not make many mistakes and is only 27. Also, he played in Mississauga in junior... So, I got a soft spot for him |

Yeah, but that's exactly why he has so much value.
Is Florida interested in Ekblad for Willy?
Probably not - it doesn't save them much money.
Ekblad for Robertson - and Florida can even eat some salary?
It's a completely different picture.
Leafs' window is what, four more years? If you put down the pitcher of blue kool-aid for a moment, is he really going to be an impact player in the next 3?
I'm just saying it's the first time I've seen anyone suggesting trading Robertson, and it made me stop and think.
And I'll just point out that the guy is far from a sure thing at this point - the jury is still out. |

I think the bigger issue is that if you do trade Robertson, you can't really take on much salary, unless you include him into a larger deal, like Nylander, a 2020 1st and Robertson for Seth Jones. (just to be used as an example, I know that is not enough to get Seth Jones). |

Rather keep Holl at 2m

yeah, the fake cap lineups I have seen, have AP at 8.5
which is pretty much a fantasy.

Assuming Florida wants to eat salary when there will be a lot of teams lining up for someone like Ekblad. I do see your point though. Maybe something like Johnsson, a draft pick and Robertson for Ekblad could work

I hope they can get DeMelo for 3.5 per.. Maybe on a 4 yr deal.. Maybe he'll want stability, seeing on how he has been on 3 teams in the past 4 years. |

What do we have to give up? Also, I think the goalie CBJ moves is Korpisalo... which is fine as well.

We won't be able to get all that in 1 offfseason. I don't thin we need a big winger to play with Matthews. That's a luxury.

Leafs will probably get a top4 guy like Cam Fowler, a guy that hasn't been mentioned at all that much recently in connection to Leafs or trades in general.
If I remember well, Fowler has played some games on RHD (no idea whether that worked out well - I haven't seen an Anaheims game in quite a while; don't think I've seen them play this season).
A Rielly - Fowler or Muzzin - Fowler pairing could potentially work.
that 6.5mln AAV is a hefty contract though, and no idea about the asking price from ANA (no signing bonuses on that contract, so ANA might be interested in dealing him?). I guess Johnsson and Kerfoot for Fowler could work if Anaheim is really looking to save some cash. I'd like to see ANA add Heinen -- but then Leafs would probably have to add an additional significan piece.

I don't hate the idea but if push comes to shove I trade Sandin before Robertson. |
