If we're speaking about young players that can help your team to go far in the playoffs, look at those 4 guys. |

Devil's advocate here ...
Masks are working. Our numbers are going up right now due largely to social gatherings without masks. Restaurants, bars, parks, bdays, etc.... anywhere there is an excuse (eating/drinking) to remove your mask.
Cohorting, mask wearing, more convenient testing (It's 2020 ..3 hours is too long), and a reduction in socializing without masks will keep everything stable.
Vaccinations are a big threshold to us getting back to "normal" ....but numbers can be kept in the very acceptable range by doing the things we're being asked to do ....better.

I took the entire family to Mt. Sinai on Friday - it was slightly less than 1.5 hours.
Looks like it has now exploded - I'm guessing lots of families want tests before their kids go back to school.
My wife has a co-worker who happily told everyone she was going to get tested today - no symptoms - so that she and her girlfriends could get together this weekend.
I know there's no possible way to prevent people from over-testing, but it doesn't mean I can't be piss off about it. |

I agree he should've stayed, for both the team and odds at winning.
But going home was for sure his tops thought. But you have to think, if winning is also something you badly want to do, then the Lakers give you a much better shot. Who cares is LeBron is there. Basketball has been stacking teams for going on a decade now. There's no integrity anymore. Just go win. - GreatGigInTheSky
Bite your tongue ...Raps won with integrity! Heat, if they win, Jimmy Buckets will win with integrity. Celtics ...Nuggets ....
The LBJ Heat and the KD Warriors I agree - suspect. And Durant will FOREVER be scarred with the narrative that he's a sell-out. People made a killing on the "cupcake" t-shirts.
I can respect Kawhi for wanting to be the guy with the Clips.
Also - I think it's far too early to write them off. They've got issues but they had one foot in and one foot out of the bubble this whole playoffs. Wouldn't surprise me to see them kick ass next year. |

We went last week and it was 2.5 hours at St. Joes. I've got a friend in the government MOH - Covid group and she said exactly that ...parents, teachers, all school employees were/are getting tested. Maybe it'll slow down?
No way are people going to be motivated to get tested in the winter with those long lineups. Sounds like Ford is about to throw some $$ at opening up better options to make it efficient. |

A neighbour did a drive-through in Etobicoke a few weeks ago. She said it was 20 minutes and easy-peezy-lemon squeezy.
Women's College lets you book an appointment (although apparently it isn't easy to navigate that). In this day and age of everyone holding a cell phone, I find it bizarre that we have 2-3 hour lineups for things. Especially if you want people to social-distance.
Give me a window. If I'm late by 5 minutes, I lose my spot. No exceptions. |

It’s going to get wild when flu hits and nobody knows what’s a flu and what’s Covid. There better be lots of quick tests available |

5 years and $250 milly.
It's all speculation and 'reports' but ....
Sham (nba's top insider) reported last week that Giannis, if he decided to leave, had Toronto and Miami as his top 2 options.
Also Masai and Giannis (and his family) have significant history outside the NBA.
Masai in 2013 moved to the Raps and tried hard to get back into the first round to draft G.A. Raps had traded their 13' pick for Kyle Lowry.
He's got one year left and most likely scenario is the Bucks tell him all the right things and spend/add around him and he re-ups for the $250 milly.
BUT, there's some smoke ....
If he tells Milwaukee he wants to go elsewhere do they keep him and let him walk next summer or do they dangle him now with 1 year left (ala Anthony Davis)?
AND, if the Bucks decided to dangle him he's only going to go somewhere where he'll lock in long term. Again, Raps and Heat the rumoured favourites.
AND that team would have to have some nice pieces to send back to the Bucks to make it all come together (see what the Lakers paid for Davis).
Any deal starts with Siakam I think. |

I agree - we need to make it convenient to create an incentive to get tested. Also we called last week and they had just dropped their "appointment" option. And apparently it was only for asymptomatic people ..ie. people not in a hurry. |

The (hopefully) good news is that Australia and other Southern Hemisphere countries have experienced very low flu rates this year - which they largely attribute to masks, social distancing, etc.
Keep your mask on and your fingers crossed. |

Ya, I'm totally *shoulder shrug* about what's ahead. Last I had read was that the summer hemisphere (at least in countries that test) had massively reduced rates of influenza b/c people had been socially distancing, better hygiene and wearing masks.
It makes sense ..i think? |

One funny little anecdote: The signs in the line indicated (from where we were standing) that it was likely an hour to hour and a half wait. Being the dad, I told them that they should go to a Tim Horton's and wait - I'd call them when we were close.
My daughter then pointed out that since we possibly had COVID, it probably was best if they didn't hang out in a Tim Horton's. Even if we didn't, we were still sick with something.
Ooooooooooh, right. Good point. |
