Too many stars already on the Leafs, he'll probably ask for a trade to a team where he can be the aforementioned the man - TheMussel
I'm assuming we will lose him to an offer sheet.
Maybe even two offer sheets - which cancel each other out, so the Leafs receive no compensation. |

With all due respect to Clifford, he brought an element the Leafs need... With that said, it should be relatively easy to replace his 4 minutes of ice time. - PatC80
Every trade deadline guys like that are available. I’d rather have the pick. |

If Pietrangelo is actually possible, I'd do it over signing lesser guys.
But of those 3 you mentioned, I'd only want DeMelo. Never liked Hamonic and he's only getting worse and Gudas would just be suspended all season here. Also I hate his face. - GreatGigInTheSky
At first glance, I would agree that I would take Pietrangelo but there is another thing to consider. I believe St. Louis wants to keep Pietrangelo but let us just say they sign him to a team friendly deal at $8.5 X 7. After that happens, the Blues now have $21.5 Million tied up in RHD, with Faulk and Parayko. Besides having a NTC, Faulk at $6.5 for 7 years is not an easy one to move. So What is better $5.5 Million for two years of Parayko or $8.5 Million x 7 for Pietrangelo. This may be a dilemma for the Blues.

But Roeper said the leafs didn't have any financial issues, he claimed with absolute certainty that the leafs had more than enough cap space to sign everyone and make the team better...............
- haywoodjablome
cap space or not, its just a good idea not to pay 4th liners much more than league min |

I went to CFB game on Sat.. outside .. nice day.. yep.. but with the progress being made daily and players being more comfortable that this worked...lets face it .. the unknown was scary..
the league absolutely is going to do 82.. and I'm thinking 30% attendance to start... with waiver for fans and such.. I'm 56 and I'd go in a heartbeat.. mask and other precautions.. for sure..
- dozerD10
It's not going to be 82. I've spoken with a guy on the business side of the NHL - it's just not feasible.
As for your 30% - not possible in certain jurisdictions. No Canadian provincial government is going to allow it. Hell, your Californian government has said they won't allow it until there is a vaccine.
Edit: "...until therapeutics have been developed." Not sure if that is the same thing.
My buddy just got back from Vegas this wknd... Said it was an absolute madhouse.. Packed on the street.. in hotels. everywhere.. For sure lots of safety precautions were taken.. But everybody was willing to do that to get back to having some semblance of lives.. - dozerD10

I had a test yesterday, even the throat one is poop when they hold your tongue down with a giant stick and absolutely drill the back of your throat. I almost barfed my coffee on the lady. |

5yr/250M for Giannis? - PatC80
$28,750,000. 7-9 years (30% of the cap):
Think that's the max that he can get. 'Cause he'll have played 8 years in the league.
Or at least that's what a really quick google search told me. |

I have to hear daily a 23 year-old Marner is so overpaid and useless, but people want to drop big money on Kyle Clifford. Christ. |

More than 6,700 individuals in Mecklenburg County in North Carolina were told in a text message sent from Mecklenburg County Health Department on Friday that they tested positive for COVID-19 and over 500 people were told through a county email that they were also infected with the novel coronavirus. But the results were incorrect due to a technical error by Health Space, the company they use for contact tracing, according to a statement on the county’s website.
So much for going and getting tested...
Seriously go get tested.. just know that not everything is as it seems sometimes. |

5 years and $250 milly.
It's all speculation and 'reports' but ....
Sham (nba's top insider) reported last week that Giannis, if he decided to leave, had Toronto and Miami as his top 2 options.
Also Masai and Giannis (and his family) have significant history outside the NBA.
Masai in 2013 moved to the Raps and tried hard to get back into the first round to draft G.A. Raps had traded their 13' pick for Kyle Lowry.
He's got one year left and most likely scenario is the Bucks tell him all the right things and spend/add around him and he re-ups for the $250 milly.
BUT, there's some smoke ....
If he tells Milwaukee he wants to go elsewhere do they keep him and let him walk next summer or do they dangle him now with 1 year left (ala Anthony Davis)?
AND, if the Bucks decided to dangle him he's only going to go somewhere where he'll lock in long term. Again, Raps and Heat the rumoured favourites.
AND that team would have to have some nice pieces to send back to the Bucks to make it all come together (see what the Lakers paid for Davis).
Any deal starts with Siakam I think. - The Law
Agree, and with all the free agents coming up on the Raptors it will be easy to add. If Raps want to win soon, adding one of the best players in the NBA would be a good start.

At least two governors (California, I think NJ and maybe Cuomo) have said no fans before a vaccine. That was back in May I believe. Maybe they’ve changed. Maybe they’re ok with 25-30% but they said no fans. |

There will likely be much better around this offseason for $1.5 million or less IMO

I think you are right, they should get some solid bottom 6 forwards this offseason. I am not sure what happens this off-season though, but I do have feeling that the Leafs are going to trade for MAF.. |
