Interesting.... Leafs are getting Pietrangelo or Parayko.... I like it.

They are the only possible outcomes of this situation if I'm following this thread correctly.

Has to be, right?

The Habs already filled their quota of former Blues with Allan and Edmundson.. It's our turn now.

At first glance, I would agree that I would take Pietrangelo but there is another thing to consider. I believe St. Louis wants to keep Pietrangelo but let us just say they sign him to a team friendly deal at $8.5 X 7. After that happens, the Blues now have $21.5 Million tied up in RHD, with Faulk and Parayko. Besides having a NTC, Faulk at $6.5 for 7 years is not an easy one to move. So What is better $5.5 Million for two years of Parayko or $8.5 Million x 7 for Pietrangelo. This may be a dilemma for the Blues.

Pietrangelo is a lot better than Parayko has ever been and Parayko is also gonna get a raise next contract, too. So if I had a choice, whether I'm the Leafs or St. Louis, I'd take Pietrangelo.

That being said though, I'd gladly take both of them. They're great.

Keeping Pietrangelo and then trading Parayko would probably be the smartest move for St. Louis, though. Keep the better player and also get a good return on the other one.

Ca you wait while I check the COC to see if you’re allowed to call another poster an idiot? I take the rules seriously.

Step 1: acquire every player from cup winning team.

Step 2: Win the cup.

EZ.

700k is fine, and I though he was pretty effective in the 48 seconds he played against columbus

I have to hear daily a 23 year-old Marner is so overpaid and useless, but people want to drop big money on Kyle Clifford. Christ.

Well, it's half right, at least.

All our top players are overpaid?
- Canada Cup

I would say Marner is 100% overpaid.

Matthews/Nylander/Tavares are market value at least in terms of what other teams would have offered (or did reportedly offer in Tavares case)

Right? Clifford did hit someone once... That should be worth at least $2M per

I haven't seen this level of effectiveness since Colton Orr .

Leafs overpay young, elite talent. Let some bozo GM overpay guys who play 5 minutes.

$28,750,000. 7-9 years (30% of the cap):

Think that's the max that he can get. 'Cause he'll have played 8 years in the league.

Or at least that's what a really quick google search told me.

- GreatGigInTheSky

5 years at 42m increasing to 56 million by year 5.

Did you notice the incredibly clever way I suggested that he was an idiot without actually calling him one. We need more nuance in the world. I convince myself that people don’t laugh at my jokes because they are way too sophisticated. When I share this theory with my wife after we spend time with other people she has another interpretation. Anyway, we all do what we can.

We'll see how overpaid MM is when he scores 100 points in the next 82 games you bastards.
