People think somehow that Bergevin has a lot of assets now to make a big splash. Like all his late picks and superstars like Byron and Mete. - deadpoulet
yeah i don't really see the trade route improving the team. Bergevin is a pretty active dealer and he generally comes out on top of his trades but they never really make the team better. teams that can't draft and develop players, like the Habs, need to find other ways to acquire impact players. |

Habs need a LH Petry. not Edmonston. Hell I prefer Kulak over Edmonston. he showed more offense in a month than Yoel did the past 4 years. - fidopro

You think all he has to bargain with is Byron, Mete and a bunch of late picks? |

their most attractive trade chips are the guys who will be their best players going forward. after that, you're looking at pending FAs like Danault, Domi, Tatar, Petry. it's hard to envision scenarios where Montreal gets better by trading them. |

They have plenty of assets to package to acquire a legit top 6 winger, I'm not sure how that's even debatable... in a year where most teams will be looking to dump salary, the 16th overall pick alone could get you that! And Domi, Danault and Mete have some value, Armia, Lehkonen, Poehling could be added for the right return... |

Domi and Danault have value. but how much better are you getting by trading one of them for a second liner? just seems like a lateral move. i'm more in favor of overpaying for a guy like Hoffman and adding him to what we already have. |

He's not having much and I've seen the trades proposals on this thread.
Domi could be traded for something that could help the team, but not a superstar. The Fidos out there will female dog about the return for sure. |

Makes them better because there isn't room in the top 9 for both at C and they need scoring from the wing, dealing from a position of strength to address a weakness makes you better... now find teams with lots of wingers in need of centermen
And fawk Hoffman!

But it doesn't have to be Domi by himself, he also has lots of secondary pieces to add |

That's why I talked about Byron, Mete and late picks. Even the 16th pick is kind of late. That player might very well never reach the NHL or play as a 4th liner.
I think if you trade Domi right now, after this season, you have to take a gamble on a player.
Like the Galchenyuk trade for Domi. Bergevin won the trade, but the female doging about it when it happened was high. |

I disagree about the gamble.... Domi, Mete, Lehkonen, 16th overall? That package gets you a player, not a gamble!

And even without the whole GF thing, Hoffman is gonna get paid for a lot of years he won't be good for, he's gonna be 31 before next season starts! Fawk Hoffman
Anderson would be awesome but he's not exactly a sniper, I'd love Anderson in a 3rd line role... with Domi at C |

I guess the Smurf name will live on regardless 👍
And you honestly don't think that package gets you a bonafide top 6 winger? |

For a team that lacks scoring, choosing Danault over Domi would be a mistake.
That is all..
