zero chance they take the goalie at 5.....if they do i'll throw something at my TV.
if they want him, i could see them packaging the isles pick and another asset to move up and grab him. - sensarmy_11
I remember 2005 being surprised when Montreal took Carey Price 5th
I just feel like there are definitely a few teams, including the Black Hawks, who may want to trade up to grab him
he's just miles ahead of any goalie in this draft |

I am surprised there were so many no votes on the Rossi pick, he's a great pick for Detroit
if they pass him up over size they are out of their minds - jimbro83
I think a lot of people are really stuck on the size thing. |

I just wonder what Ottawa thinks of the goalie
if they love the goalie, do they take him at 5? and then use their late first rounder and all their seconds to try and trade up again?
Ottawa is the most intriguing team in this draft - jimbro83
I don’t know if anyone has the balls to take a Russian goalie in the top 10 regardless of how anyone feels about taking goalies that early in general. |

Yeah you would think with Chabot, Brannstrom, JBD, and Lassi they go with 2 high end forwards. |

That's a good way to put it. But I don't want the Islanders advancing to the Cup Finals. (frank) that poop. |

IMO, they need to go byfield/stutzle at 3, and Raymond/perfetti/rossi at 5 (i listed them in order of my preference).
that being said, if they get byfield at 3, then i would switch my preference to Raymond/holtz (need a winger and a center, not 2 centers) |

i do, but only because it really torques a lot of the leaf fans to see the Isles succeed (with Lou, and without Tavares) and the leafs get worse (without Lou and with Tavares). |

Many Sens fans are pulling for the Islanders and Jean Gabriel Pageau in particular. He was a huge fan favourite and it would be a thrill to have him bring the Cup home for a visit this summer.

In a deep draft like this, rather than drafting for the best player available, maybe a team like Ottawa, that is already flush with prospects needs to take the best asset that remains on the board. Assets can be traded.
Perhaps the Russian goalie will be the top asset after the big 3.
