Eddy was well liked by the fans and I think the team as well here in St Louis. Stay at home defenseman that from time to time surprise everyone with offense. He seems to come out of nowhere in critical times. He plays with a hard edge that will add to team toughness and the goalie will be protected with him on the ice. He is missed here in St. Louis. Him and Army just couldn’t come together ona contract at all for some reason. If I could rescind a trade it would be Eddy + for Faulk and I’d take that back quicker than a heartbeat.

If you've watched Edmundson you would know Chiarot > Ed. That being said, it's no secret GMMB is building a roster to try and win games 2-1 every night, he's been doing it for years, it was the catalyst of the Weber/Subban trade, and every player he brings in he does so to make the team tougher to play against. This is very much in line with that philosophy. Who knows if it will work out for the Habs but I'm not surprised.

I would be super shocked if he somehow went after Virtanen. That player is exact opposite to the philosophy above. Roussel might be a better target from the canucks roster.
