Hockey would be one of the hardest, if not THE hardest, to play twice in a day.

Re: double headers, there is no chance the NHLPA would be on board with that idea. Not happening.
- bmeltzer

What if game 2 was just a 20-minute 3-on-3 game? And then teams were allowed to carry a couple of extra players. So maybe if your team is up 4-1 in the morning game you start to rest your skill players and save them for the 3-on-3 game in the evening. Carrying extra players would also give these AHL guys a place to play since the AHL is shut down. I think a 20-minute 3-on-3 game could see a pile of goals. Maybe Gretzky's records could be broken. Ek heard it from TWO sources so there must be some legs to this.

I have an old friend who thinks playoff series should not have OTs but rather be segmented into seven different 60-min games with a running tally of total goals. OT if tied at the end of the seventh.

THAT is the dumbest idea I have heard re: pro hockey.... but double headers are up there.

- bmeltzer

What do you think of overtime. I would prefer 5 or 10 mins of 4 v 4 then 5 min of 3v 3 before we get to a skills competition.

Wait...play all 7 for 60 minutes and most goals wins?

I liked Raffl from Day One.

He's made fewer mistakes on the ice in 7 years as a Flyer than many players make in a single season. He just gets the job done. His skillset won't blow you away in any one area but he has no weak parts to his game. If I were a Flyer I would love having him on my line.

For all the kids coming up in the bottom 6, we need some veterans playing with them to show them how to be a complete player. If we can keep Raffl around for cheap then to me it's a no-brainer

- Coburns_Nose

Raffl is one of those players whose value to a team is high as a veteran role player but not real valuable in an actual trade. It's strange how that is.

Now Hockey can compete with juggernaut sports such as cricket and road bicycling (e.g., Le Tour de France).

I actually love the 3 on 3....I hope they extend to a 10 minute period. It’s some of the most exciting play that there is.

"since the AHL is shut down". I don't think this is confirmed. Last I heard they are contemplating a December start.

I could be totally wrong, mainly because I don’t follow soccer/football too much, but isn’t there a tourney in one of the European football leagues where total goals in the tourney impact the winner?

Hey does anyone by chance use the bootleg xfinity stream on the fire stick? Looks like something happened and it no longer works, was wondering if anyone had a solution.

The Champions league which is a season long tournament among the top teams from all of the European leagues, uses a home an away format. If each team wins a game the aggregate score of the two games is used to determine who moves on in the tournament. If teams are still tied with the aggregate, the team with the most “away goals “ gets the win.

Could the Flyers make a play for Pietrangelo? Sign him in the 45mil/5year range. Send Niskanen in the deal for his rights, trade Ghost and possibly JVR for whatever youth legit talent you can find and sign Hoffman 15mil/3year.

Welcome back a healthy Lindbolm and Patrick.

If Nisky and ghost are gone that is Alex’s cap hit. The only thing I could think is how it would limit us in the future.

Didn’t see at first. Yeah no way Hoffman is here, couldn’t afford. We be losing two players for the price of one already. Only league minimums to fill out roster after rfa s signed.
