Yea, agree with you, it still looks a little patchy.
Maybe if we get Mr X, and added, say a Erik Cernak (deleting one of the others) - it would look a whole lot better. I want Cernak for 2nd pairing!
Think Heinola is ready for the vigors of the NHL? - grahamzky
Best use of Cernak:
Morrissey-Cernak
Heinola-Pionk
Samberg-DeMelo
We know Heinola is ready. Morrissey gets the useful big boi we all apparently want. Samberg (whom is enormous) gets a safety blanket |

A lot guys have come and gone over the years like Petan, great in JUnior, great in the NHL - and then ??? They don't ever really make it.
Believe it was Ross who stated that 1 of 5 first round picks don't make it. A problem on the ice, or off the ice?
Many of these that don't make it lack one key ingredient, whether it's speed, shot, intensity, out of shape, physicality, etc.
Can't believe we're still talking Petan. What about Eric Fehr and Oli Jokinen? |

Yes, with that contingent Cernak should be on first pairing. I agree. I'm just hoping we get that better d-man to play with Morrissey, and Cernak could slide down to second pairing.
Hope you're right about Heinola and Samberg being ready - huge for the Jets if true. Still we need some sandpaper like Borowiecki - and we really need some muscle on 4th line. IF the Jets were to get, say, Ryan Pulock, then Clutterbuck would probably have to accompany him for cap reasons.
Heinola needs to have put on like 20 lbs of muscle.
I know, Pulock might be a pipe dream, but don't try and take dreaming away from me. lol |

Petan, Rattie and Leipsic were quite the line in the WHL .....need I say more ?

That’s Stanley Cup winner Eric Fehr and 91 point man Olli Jokinen to you.
But regardless of that, Petan is a success. Solid NHL stats. He just got his perceived value tanked by the Jets |

You are way too fixated on size for a guy watching a team full of 5’11” forwards facing off against a team whose best defenceman are under 200lbs.
I’d prefer a 180lbs Heinola to a 215 Heinola, because one will be considerably faster than the other. Borowiecki is just bad. Pulock makes sense, but I’m not touching Clutterbuck. |

Rattie was a miss.
Petan is a hit.
Leipsic was jerked around because of his size even though he’s a capable NHLer, then got himself cancelled for being a garbage human. |

Agreed. It's funny watching him dig his own hole deeper and deeper with each successive post.

Not sure where you're going with this "you are away too fixated for a guy watching a team full of 5'11 forwards" etc? You talking Jets?
Heinola? I said 20 pounds of "muscle." Not flab!
You think Borowiecki is bad and you won't touch Clutterbuck? Watching the Stanley Cup final, do you not think that Perry and Pat Maroon, neither one known for their scoring now, (Perry used to be), are helping their teams reach for the promised land? Borow and Clutter would do the same for the Jets - at least make they would make them better - and the small players bigger.
Let me guess - you are a female/male - small in stature? |

The Bolts win the SC tonight!
6'6" Victor Hedman wins the Conn Smythe! 5'10 Brayden Point the runner-up! |

Yeah, I don’t know about that blueline at all.
-Poolman isn’t top 4 material, and if Heinola had any issues adjusting to the smaller ice (he shouldn’t), that pairing gets slaughtered.
-Boro is a delightful man, but an AHL level defenceman.
-Gudas would be smart, but he needs a partner that can move the puck. Niku? - Rexypoo
I’ll be so mad if we sign Hamonic, who I feel is worse than Poolman right now to be our third pair right D and pay him over 3 million to be worse than the guy getting sat making 700k |

I’d Probably do Connor for Pulock straight up. I’d probably ask for a little more but if pushed, I’d probably do it |

I am confused. Is this a hockey discussion board? I do not see what Rexypoo's height has to do with anything. For all we know, he could be 6"11 and have difficulty purchasing clothes his height. |

Substitute Connor for Laine. Why don't you like Connor, signed for 6 years at great price, jells well with Scheif and Wheeler, and would have scored 40 goals last season without postponement. Second most exciting player to watch on team (Ehlers 1st)
Problem is that the Isles couldn't cap wise do a one-for-one and take on salary.
For whatever reason, Connor is severely under-appreciated by his own "fans," Why?
I really don't get it! |

Adding Cernak would be perfect, he could probably handle the top pair job next to Morrissey, would just need a LHD to pair with Pionk and they'd be back to a respectable D core.
Chevy should be trying hard to get Cernak from the cap crunched Lightning.
Heinola looked good in his 8 games, I'd worry about how he'd do in the playoffs though, with the next.season being delayed I wonder if Heinola might be left to play the season in Finland.
I think Samberg was promised a spot so I expect to see him on the Jets even though I think he should be down with the Moose.
As much as I'd like a big LHD to pair with Poolman on the 3rd pair, I also would like to see Niku given a fair shot to sink or swim. |

I suspect that Rexy has trouble getting a cap to fit his head, because his head is so full of hockey wisdom 🤣 |

Some of these older fellas 1000% benefited from the break!! Perry was having a god awful year, the break absolutely helped his old worn down body recover and Get ready for this one last hurrah and to be fair yes he’s scored some big goals but also cost his team more than a few. Overall he has not been good. |

I like Connor !! I do!! And I think he will continue to improve. I just have Laine with a much higher ceiling. But I disagree, he plays well with shief and wheels on the power play but their 5v5 play is not very good!! They are one of the worst top lines in the league actually. |
