Patches though? Man. Yeah, he's overpaid, but it's nothing compared to what they gave up to get him. They'd have Tatar, Suzuki and a few top picks and they'd still be spending less money than they are on Patches.

Technically yes, but he's also so good in other aspects of the game. I kind of liken it to what you said about Schmidt. I think $5.5Mish is fair, so yeah $6.5M might be an overpay, but I don't think it's terrible.

I mean the really bad ones for them are Martinez and MAF. The other ones are good players that have contracts that are 1-2m too rich for me.

Told by a source that the Canadiens have been working Dustin Byfuglien to see if he could return for some time now. They aren't the only team (as reported by Andy Strickland) but of the teams I've spoken to, Montreal feels they may be closer than anyone else to getting it done. Sabres, Panthers, and Penguins are also possibilities....I will be adding Byfuglien to the rumor chart when I do my full update this afternoon...(It just feels empty without him on the chart....)
