Rumors CBJ’s might buyout Wennberg. - Pacificgem
Cus he's terrible
4 years ago he put up 59 points but its been a steep, steady decline since and he's only 26 years. He scored 2 goals in 75 games last year!! That's Loui Eriksson bad. AND he's been making 4.9MIL - prime candidate to go home. Share a seat with Loui. |

Holtby sucks, a lot of other goalies I would target before signing any of the UFA's.
Elvis, Raanta or Allen would be the ideal targets with 1 year ~4M left. I wonder if JV could fetch one?
I would also look at Reimer, Hutton, Halak although that would really depend on whether they think Demko is ready.
If you are going to sign a UFA, likely needing term, you might as well give Markstrom what he wants. Usually I would be against trading for a goalie when you can sign one but the cap being what it is, the team needs short term contracts and some breathing room to asses Demko more than anything. |

I Think Jake will be moved before the draft unless Canucks can not sign Toffoli - VANTEL
As an RFA or with a contract in place?
My thought is that there would be more trade value & opportunity if JB and Jake could come to terms on a reasonable (relative to arbitration) contract.
Either way, I have the same view as you which is he is being moved out and likely before the draft. |

Melnyk is notoriously cheap and his once billion dollar fortune is now only worth 200 million, when times are tough, as they are now, him saving 3.7 million is a huge deal. |

Entering dangerous waters by making an offer. I would hope there would be a trade like Debrusk for Jake and expect to pay JD three mil a year for 2-3 years.

Eriksson trade saves them more money and Canucks could of bought him out. I hope Aquaman is willing to flex his wealth for these scenarios.
Ott gets Eriksson for 4M salary over 2 years. Canucks can save 4.2M I cap for next 2 years then 2 more years of 1.8 cap hit. |

Well I apologize to the posters who feelings are so fragile that when I said "You do know he is from Canucks Army" they felt offended.
Next there is a difference between me retweeting Chris Faber this reporting that Podkolzen scored a goal at 2.10 of the second period and Chris Faber asking me for money to listen to him talk about why Sutter absolutely needs to be bought out.
I did quit about a month and a half ago around the same time Codes did for the same reason . I have seen this issue brought up now with me three times and never once did it say" You and Codes quit why are you both back" ? Also it is nice that you care so much about what I do .
My comment about meeting with my gang was pure MOCKERY f of some of the events that go on in here. It astonishes me that grown men have to run off to another thread to complain. I have never been to that thread but I have seen some comments from other posters in here sending me DMs .
If you need to run away and cry like a little school girl at this age , I don't know what to tell you. I know if I have an issue with some one I will take it on one on I don't need to have backing. This is not aimed at you.
I also see in here it is quiet at periods of time and then within minutes there are multiple posters in here attacking a guy like Nuck Up. Quiet all day and boom out of nowhere three people jumping down his throat. That was my mockery of the statement I am meeting with my gang.
- VANTEL
im sort of only back when things aren't a complete sh*t show in the main threads, which is more often than not in the last little while. I imagine people start to get along more when the Canucks either make some trades, signings, buyouts, etc. |

I am sorry for mentioning your name as you know I do like you.
My point to rueben was there were two people that quit the same week for the same reasons and only one gets mentioned.
I respect your decision to leave and I respect your decision to come back and you can trust me I will never need an explanation from you of why you chose to do either.

haha no worries man. I don't think people really care or realize if I am here or not, which is how i sort of like it lol. Wife and I just sold our house and bought another so its been a bit hectic so don't really have much time for HB. I am just eager to hear/see some signings/trades. |

interesting, you are hopeful to get Debrusk for less than Boston sportswriters expect it would take.
Their commentary (FWIW, you don’t need to agree with it) seems to be:
* Jake D is a legit 2 LW
* The average second line left wing in the NHL makes roughly $3.8 million dollars per season
* comparisons include Tuch, Vrana, Mantha and Toffoli (who do / will make more $)
* their projection is he might get $4-$5M / year dependent upon term
...this is from this week, not pre-pandemic

He still has one year left, ya? Or is he an RFA too?

3.8 is fair. I would agree Jake is a second liner.
Until some contracts are signed we won't know what players will be getting. I just seen a tweet from Dreger that Islanders are probably going to offer Barzal a short term deal. This is a year like no other.
I heard discussion yesterday of a lot of RFAs won't receive qualifying offers . We can see it even with Canucks.

I'd rather have Brandon Carlo.
