Couple rumors out there that Marc Staal has been traded to Detroit.
Sorry for posting 2 updates about the Red Wings on a Blackhawks message board - Theo Fox
Theo if saad does get traded what team does he end up with? Same with Murphy? |

I’m on board with acquiring Kuemper. - DarthKane
30 years old and can't stay healthy. Averages less then 30 games a season. Most games played were 55 (once) and 31 (once).
It'll be a compressed schedule next season if they play. Lotsa back-to-backs and possible doubleheaders. I think he'll break down real fast.
Pass.

I seriously think the double header idea was Ek's idea to get sone click bait. Theo and others have floated the idea of b2b against the same team ala AHL schedule. That I can see in a condensed schedule. |

I respect your opinions. Would you consider Saad snd Murphy "young" assets? If not what would you like to see in return for trade for them in separate deals? Based on your previous posts, a couple of high picks and decent prospects? Any names in particular? - boilermaker100
Murphy more so than Saad. I am not really familiar with other team's prospects so I really couldn't say. Maybe I am biased when it comes to Saad and Murphy but I think both have enough value to be worth a 1st round pick. Saad because of some comparables and Murphy because he is a legit Top 4 D-man, RH and has a great contract.
For me, the return for either of them would have to be a bit of an overpay in order to move them. Mainly because even during a rebuild a team needs some solid vets to set the tone and lead by example. Seems that Saad and Murphy fit that description.
The guys I usually want in return are players not available. |

Not sure on specific teams but likely both to the Eastern Conference. If I had to place bets today, my gut feeling is Saad goes home to Pittsburgh and Murphy to Toronto.
Yet, I'm also not one to believe in the axiom that teams shouldn't trade within the division or even the conference. Teams will trade with each other if they get the assets they want. |

I think the premise that EK mishandled was "doubleheaders". What I have seen mentioned is there would be BSB against the same team to cut down on travel. That makes some sense |

Pittsburgh would be a terrible trade partner because the Hawks would have to retain or take back some salary. The Pens really don't have much I would want since they traded their 1st. Or at least anything in their minor system that I am familiar with |

If the price was right, I'd take Jake DeBrusk in Chicago. Given the Bruins would be desperate to shed salary, the trade could be favorable to the Hawks.
That also assumes Bowman can get his own house in order to re-sign free agents and get cap compliant.
@PuckReportNHL
Frank Seravalli on TSN1260 says Jake DeBrusk will likely be on the next Trade Bait list. #NHLBruins have made a final offer to Torey Krug, take it or leave it. Thinks they’re a team potentially interested in Taylor Hall. If they get him, DeBrusk could be in the mix to move. |

That makes sense to me, too. Do 2-3 game series like baseball. Also, more games in the division and conference and minimizing play against the other conference.
Playing twice in the same day is fine in youth and rec league tournaments. Not pro hockey. |

Texas down 14 with 3:40 left. Comes back and wins in OT. Has to recover an onside kick to do it. |

That’s ok - with the lack of news of any kind coming out of Chicago, it’s a welcome reminder that teams can make deals. |

Rangers down to 4 signed defensemen, two on ELC'S plus one RFA. Looks like they need some veteran blue line help. Murphy or deHaan or Maata as part of a package for Buchnevich? |

Trading one or both would signal a rebuild. Would be nice if a couple of high picks and a couple of decent forward prospects could be gotten in return .

Pittsburgh has little value left in return for Saad. He would have been a good fit for the Pens prior to them trading their 1st for Kapanen. |

Ek specifically mentioned day-night double headers not b2b's. Just some of his BS. Oh well don't think it's worth discussing any more . |

Strome and Murphy fit the bill but would it be worth it to obtain Laine plus maybe other assets in return?
Don't know if I would do it. We need a Murphy more than a Laine.
@PuckReportNHL
Friedman says we’re seeing a lot of Patrik Laine rumors because the Winnipeg Jets feel that maybe the best way to solve the issue is if trading him can get them a 2C and a RHD and solve their other roster problems. #GoJetsGo |
