I have slowly come around to believe that Dallas is a good team. But the better team on paper is Tampa.
I do not want Dallas to win. I don't want them to get an opportunity to win in game seven. That does not mean I am not a true hockey fan. If for whatever reason you don't agree, so what. - jhawk59
What you said was - just end the season already, don’t give Dallas a game 7.
I took that to mean you didn’t care about the playoffs. We spend so much time here (and other places) discussing arcane details of trades that will never happen, but seem not to be watching the games that are being played - certainly not discussing them (I got a poor response when I asked if anyone was watching).
If I misrepresented your comment, I apologize. |

Agree, it's exciting. - 6628
Foles threw 5 TD passes even if only 3 counted. Now keep him healthy. Defense has been spotty AF! Tarik Cohen out for the season with ACL. Lucky for him he signed a new contract last week. |

Cohen was a good weapon with the plays Nagy was calling. I think just means more plays for Patterson.
Agree on Foles. I think him being in there opens up the offense. |

Add this to your notes:
2020 NHL Draft Players you won’t have to wait long to see in the NHL:
Alexis Lafreniere He is wing. He may see the off hand side, RW to play top six.
Quinton Byfield He will see time at both centre and wing
Marco Rossi He stays at centre
Anton Lundell He stays at centre
Tim Stützle He stays a wing.
Kaiden Guhle He stays a defenseman, who won't be on the PP - wiz1901
I definitely have Lafreniere, Byfield, Rossi, and Lundell as capable of playing in the NHL next season.
Wasn't sure about Stutzle but wouldn't be surprised.
Guhle wasn't on my radar yet definitely one to watch as a smooth skating defensive defenseman who plays a mean game. |

The Athletic mock draft has us picking Mercer, and Theo picked Holloway. Wiz, which player has the highest ceiling, and which player has the highest floor (could be the same player)? Also, if Murphy gets us #15, could the Hawks get both of them? - tvetter
In the HockeyBuzz mock draft, I would have selected Mercer over Holloway if Mercer hadn't already been picked.
I saw your other post and would agree that it would be very nice to get two 1st round picks in the teens and aim for both players if possible. |

Imo Murphy to Toronto and i know im beating a dead horse but they need a rd to play with Riley and his contract is very reasonable and term also. Don't get me wrong i like murphy a lot but hawks are not going to be a playoff team next season so sell murphy and saad and maybe one will get you a 1st and other assets to build for the future. |

A poster on another message who has had some good inside info in the past has said he was told Crawford turned down the $3.5M offer so he will not re-sign with the Hawks. Anyone else see anything about that? |

Hey St LBravesFan,
For many years you have had good insight and timely commentary i believe going back even to The Daily Herald with T Sasoon.
I maybe too quick to sound off there so I am sorry i misinterpreted where you were coming from. I simply want to see the off season moves start and a game seven delays the short window of time before the draft. I also feel that Tampa made some good in season trades and as a result of that, they have the best deepest talent. As for Dallas, Sequin has not produced the points he was expected to produce. Radulov draws the ire from coaches. I didn't think Lindell and Oleksiak were as good as they have been. The Stars though have come to play. They have actually a fairly high number of players whom never established themselves as quality NHL players. But the effort and attitude has carried them and this is a team wide attribute. We've been impressed particularly with stellar performance from Pavelski and Perry.
Still I say Tampa has the better team but you know the better team doesn't always win
So game six is going to be a beauty as someone said. Go to game seven and Dallas is a bigger threat to pull off a bit of an upset.
I personally want to see Chicago develop two top dmen on the offensive side. There is hope we may have three or more very good offensive dmen, each different in the skill strength they bring. I am hopeful Moberg and Carlsson can be the dmen whom dish out checks. There is a deep stable of thoroughbred dmen prospects. I am hopeful some of them emerge as we see with Dallas. |

I'm not saying both of those guys wouldn't be a huge upgrade, but what makes you think any of the past two Bears coaching staffs would have been able to use them to their potential? |

It's Stan's fault not Pace and JC's fault on the play calling. |

Can Trubisky skate? At 6-2, 220 he'd make a good power forward.

Stützle is Kane like in that it takes him veery little time to operate once the puck is coming his way. And sure I may incorrect on them being there right off, but imo, they are the closest.
Guhle can skate, close the gap, make contact, play borderline with the intent to have you take the penalty. He's a chippy guy with good instincts, he doesn't have terrific hands hardly a shot at this point, and although great in snuffing the rush, he needs plenty of work when he gets a puck back in transition, I have seen him get panicky.
Maybe I like Guhle more than others, and am being harsh in my criticism, but he is gonna get stronger, and he manages pucks well and will get better in the attack zone. I just think we have several offense men with up ice but what he does is use his excellent balance and skating ability to knock the tar out of attackers on a lot of entires...his checks turn into giveaways by way of his intimidating and tactical presence defending the rush, before they get in.
The offense will come or not. He has feet can transports and to me Marc Giordano is not an anomaly in time it takes for that side to get into a defenders game. I like him.

If true wondering if it’s the money, or they are not guaranteeing him playing the majority of the games?

Can you imagine how bad his hockey sense would be? He would make Leddy look like Mensa.

I would not be surprised if accurate. The Hawks clearly are positioning to move on from the old core without actively breaking it up in the eyes of fans. They'll let 50 walk after making an offer, and want 7 (and then possibly 2) to ask to be moved. |

That and I wouldn't be surprised if Crawford isn't getting tired of facing 32-35 shots against each game he plays. |
