"...With his relatively strong frame, Lundell excels down low in the cycle, always making intelligent plays to maintain possession for his team. The positional awareness and poise that he possesses are exceedingly rare to see from such a young player, which is why he is considered to be a relatively “safe” pick — a near guarantee to develop into at least a second-line centre in the NHL."
Sign me up. - Powerslave
He's a safe pick that will be in the nhl for a long time I just question how much O game he will bring i see him as a 50-60 center that will win some Selkes just want a player with a higher upside

Lundell looks excellent. The odds he makes a difference in year 1 is about 5% - sbroads24
I would say 50% he probably would be our shutdown centre from day one.. Problem is I want him To develop into a star |

How to you arrive here after what I’ve said? I. Don’t. *want* to trade 8th overall. I will however, if that’s the only way to get a bonafide center/winger who will give us another element to the offense.
They need to not lose Jack Eichel. Period.
Drafting Anton Lundell doesn’t do that this year and probably next - sbroads24
No, however drafting Lundell.
Moving Montour/Risto (if not both) and take your pick out of any prospect or several not named Dylan Cozens plus the 2021 first if you have to can me moved in order to find a capable 2A/2B option to Eric Staal.
Preferably one who has very good defensive metrics as we do need a matchup Center |

I honestly think we’ll get this from Cozens. If it comes down to Rossi and Lundell, you take Rossi and don’t look back. He can be taught the defensive side of the game, but we can’t teach the skill he’s got with the puck - SDSabre
He's very good defensively just not elite like lundell ..
I wish lundell had Rossi O game it make the pick more easier |

I'm just saying, if he's there and they pick him (from reading draft profiles and scouting reports the last 2 hours at work - hey, maybe Terry will hire me 😉 - it seems that Rossi and Perfetti might already be gone?), it seems like Lundell is a shoe-in to have a pretty impactful career. |

Let the draft fall to us, see who's available, with the talent in this draft, I would not be surprised if Adams gets some interesting offers for the 8th, we are in a good spot to help the franchise. |

Yeah that’s kinda my point. Rossi is Elite on offense, good at defense. Lundell the same just flipped. Give me the elite offensive guy and see if he can become better at defense. The defensive guy is on the offensive side |

Regarding the bold above, so you're saying you wouldn't want to draft Anthony Cirelli and have him on the Sabres? |

With how much he, and many others, constantly talk about the greatness of Cirelli and how much they'd love to have him on the team, I don't understand why he wouldn't be very happy if the Sabres drafted Lundell.
He has a high end defensive game already and he has plenty of skill offensively with upside still to go too. |

This is of course my preferred route.
I’d actually rather go after Danault than Monahan, just using him as an example |

And playing against men the past two years.
If it falls to where he's the bpa, from what I've seen and read and heard, I'm good.
People keep touting him as a can't miss top 6 F. And almost NHL ready (but when he's ready, he's ready). |

Exactly, the thing that might affect him playing this year, is getting used to the ice |

I see anthony Cirelli in the 80-90 the next level Some may disagree but that's where I see him as If it only took the 8th overall pick to do it I would do in the 2nd |

I can’t remember which executive it was - a Brian Burke buddy, said that he would field a 12 man offense of centres. Why?
Because centres can move to the wing.
EDIT: I took Lundell with Anaheim in Jan Levine’s Mock Draft. I had set up a deal with Wild for 9OA and Dumba, get a top four righty and the guy they should draft. He’s a Murray type centre.
If Lundell has Rossi’s offense Lafreniere would take a seat behind him.
Lundell will be a very underrated. Basically everyone is saying Bergeron/Barkov and if you had the time of day to watch his scouting reports you would see why. |

You got Eichel and Cozens for the future.
Lundell could give you what the Leafs had Tavares-Matthews-Kadri, or a lite version of Sid-Geno-Staal. Higher ceilings does not always equal results in the playoffs. |

If Eichel continues to make progress on his two hundred foot game could maybe even compare it to
Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Fillppula. |

Yeah but I question if this is the last year for jack I would like a player that will hit a calling of a 1st or 2nd line if cozens becomes the number 1
