Just to clarify what I meant by luck was more or less getting Point, Cirelli, and Kucherov past the first round.
I do agree completely tho if they have a distinct advantage over other teams due to the state tax as well. - Pegullaville
Between the advantage of the state tax, beaches, warm weather, and relative media obscurity, does the league need to do something to level the playing field as far as contracts go? Is there even anything they can do? |

I’d say so but it’s above my pay grade. |

Yes and no. I do believe the season will permanently shift. I don't think it will go as far as the end of September though. - buffalofan19
That's interesting 19, why the permanent change?
When would the season run from too?
I could see a Christmas start this season if there allowing fans. Best time to sell tickets all season. Well, at least when your team isnt good. People still buy gifts ect. |

Tampa went 7/15 on the PP the last 5 games.
That’s a 47% clip approximately.
Special teams won TBL a cup.
True story. - Pegullaville
Tampa played globetrotters hockey on the pp
What an exciting team. Top to bottom
Adding in the maroon, Blake coleman, bogo , luke sheen toughness seams to have got them over the hump this year?

Only one that makes remote sense to even consider would be state tax, but it would also require teams that don't have that luxury to spend more.. Which the owners would most likely shoot down, not just now, but probably before. |

and lets be honest buffalo has a very distinct disadvantage.. one of the highest tax brackets and you live in Buffalo... NYR and Isles are going to get people despite the taxes because of the fact that you are in NYC... but with Buffalo all you got is a cliff with a poop load of water going over it a few miles down the road |

Buffalo does have the advantage of living near the Canadian border.
Fans and potential free agent families live close bye and are die hard hockey fans.
Hockey fans , not necessarily sabres fans.
Many come down to see the other team, not just Toronto and the habs |

Lmao. No biggie. You didn't give away anything. Love the flashback scenes, and the one with Miyagi had a Rocky/Mickey feel. Hit me right in the "feels".

A later start means less competition with football in the fall, which is on just about every day of the week now, during normal times. Competition with just about every other sport is less daunting.

You mean like the baseball season was canceled?
Like I said last night, they have smart people running things. They also have plans in place for things like this. The season will not be canceled. There is too much TV revenue to lose. |

I don’t think you will find anybody that disagrees with you that you don’t need toughness, however they need to be able to play.
Coleman is tough but has top 6 talent.
Goodrow was tough but was a very strong PK’er that made him attractive to Tampa.
Maroon and Paquette are tough and played their bottom 6 minutes and had positive impacts.
Schenn was terrible but the team around him was able to withstand his one ice impacts.
Bogo was in and out of the lineup and played sparingly down the stretch. |
