Could you give me a % on any sort of eichel trade.
2020/ 2021 season ?
2021 /2022 season ?
If there are no fans in NY for the nhl hockey season next year, might that cushion the fan revolt at the ticket office if they were to trade eichel. Gotta think the gate draw is part of eichels allure originally.
McDavid would have been a jackpot for the pagelus - Boss34
depends on what the offers are
I do not think this team can compete in the next two years unless dahlin turns into a norris caliber d man, cozens and casey turn into legit top 6 scorers

For the upcoming season, there is a negative 100% chance Eichel gets traded. It's total nonsense. - kingcong39

Debate was unwatchable. Loudmouth talking over the former VP every time he tried to talk. It was classless, rude, and embarrassing so I shut it off after 10 minutes as it was extremely annoying. The moderator tried in vain to shut him up constantly. Was that his strategy ? He can't debate intelligently on facts, so he just talks over everybody ? Sad thing is that I KNEW it'd be like that, yet I still tuned in. Shame on me for trying. - kritter65

To even bring up the idea in here, or anywhere, is just asinine. "Hey everyone, let's keep talking about it so the talk never goes away !". Yeah, that's just great. I realize by replying to a post about it, that i'm adding fuel to the fire, but Jesus H Christ, enough of this nonsense already !! |

I would think that the Rangers have as much ammunition currently, kappa last year , #1 this year ect. As any team (exceptable for Jack) is going to have in the near future?
An offer would really have to be above and beyond.
If we could just turn this team around like you suggested, this would all go away. Dahlin top 3-5 defenseman and either cozens or Casey become real top 6 wingers.
I still contend that goaltending was the single biggest reason last season, for not gaining more wins/points

If they move Casey to the wing I can see him being a complimentary top 9 forward but I would not expect him to be a legit top 6 option at this point.
I do expect Cozens to be a top 6 forward for us within the next 2 years.
I also expect Dahlin to take the next step and become a top 20 d-man in the league next year, possibly top 10 the year after. Sky’s the limit with him. |
|
|
|
So pending Adams goes about the draft business as usual and makes really no significant moves he is basically banking that Cozens is going to be the second line savior, that is quite the gamble no matter how good Cozens has previously looked. What if it takes Cozens 2-3 years to belong on a second line, are you going to sign another 1 year Eric Staal type plug? This team needs a significant overhaul and I guess time will tell if Adams is willing to do it. |

Reasonable post flacco.
What about goaltending? Think we need an upgrade? |

This says it all to me, if a player has a contract (Eichel) that has 6 yrs left he has 10M reasons to honor it. He can ask out but the Sabres have no reason to honor that request or he can run to Europe to play and guess what when he wants to come back after a year guess who still own his rights. Lets face it the answer to all this BS is for Kim to let Adams go out and get the players he needs to vastly improve this team. It's really that simple.
There are so many teams in cap jail that there are deals that can be made. Adams started off by by getting Staal, hopefully he doesn't bring back any of the UFA's and the lesser RFA's. These are things Botts never did. This team needs a transfusion of talent and new faces outside the core. If it takes losing a player like Reinhart plus to bring in a talent like Laine so be it. It's time for a change and there should be around 10 new players on this team next year. - Leninthebuff
No, no.
Sabres just need a tweak, I mean they missed the 50% expanded playoffs by just 1 point
Or,
they missed finishing 30th by 5 points. |

Covid contract for Soderberg. 2x4m per
Move a defenseman for a forward. Montour for Anderson. They will be playing "meaningful games in March" to borrow a Botterilism
Skinner-Staal-Cozens
Kahun-Soderberg-Anderson
Wouldn't suck. And you have cover for Cozens for a couple years |

Cozens has something that Casey never did in Staal. Staal is a pros pro, he'll be teaching those two a lot, as well as Eichel on how to lead. I don't think someone else coming in for next year is off the table, but the plan should be to have Staal hold down 2C until Cozens proves it is his. |

Cozens also is 6’3 and is an elite skater.
Two other things Casey does not have.

I get that. Casey has elite stick handling though. And elite eating and video game habits. Watch out, he might surprise some of us.. at the EA sports open.
Just kidding, I think he could be a fine middle six winger that can be cheap, which we need. |

Also, I was more pointing out that Casey wasn't necessarily given the correct opportunity to succeed, where Cozens looks like he is, hopefully. |

It's too early to do so, but yes I would expect the Sabres to extend Staal 1 more season to get 2 full years out of him. It doesn't matter about his age, rather it should be about his on-ice production and his off-ice mentorship.
Imagine having Cozens locker in between Eichel and Staal...kid could learn quite a bit...and for that matter so can Jack.
It was a great move...just need about 4 or 5 more |

And I actually think Anderson can play a line higher, but if you get that to succeed w Cozens up on 2, then you're really doing something. |

I think I can get them to fringe status in 3 moves for $7.5m.
Anderson - 1 year 2.5
Soderberg - 2 years $4 per
Mike Smith - 1 year $1m
(I'm carrying 3 goalies)

King Hank bought out.. Long shot for sure, but would be a better backup then Hutton and can mentor the kids.. Might just wanna hang out with Staal too. |

Dahlin and Olofsson both played with his twin brother for years in Frolunda as well.
The King is more of a jester at this point though. |
