I don't know according to 89 the Sabres are big on Laine, one expensive RW in who scores more and is bigger to play with Jack.

One out to bring in another center or another winger

They haven't really talked about that big contract for Sam yet but 89 says they are focused on Dahlin. If I was Sam I would feel a bit snubbed.

Also, do they want to pay Sam big bucks if Jack isn't here to lead the way? That will be another bad contract then to add to Skinners and Okposo's.

Happy for stamkos but he didn't have any part in the cup winning ..
- GERBE!!!75PTS

If he was with his team in the bubble continuing to be the captain and help steer the ship, not to mention score a goal in the final series, then he certainly did have a part in winning the cup.

He basically said exactly this, albeit in different words, and then they moved on.
- Bufsaints8

He did. He said this, and he combined it with 'teams call, it's my job to listen.'

Both can be true.

If you get trade offers in fantasy, people say I want your best player, you say, ok, show me what you got. 99.9% of the time, you laugh at them. But you're not trying to win if you outright tell them to not even ask.

I don't know what Laine has to do with Jack.

My guess is, they use Reinhart to get Laine, if that trade ever goes through. You can't afford both of them.

Everyone knows Dahlin's contract will be larger than Sam's. That's a given. When you're packing your car for a road trip, you pack the biggest things first. It doesn't mean you're not packing the smaller items, too.

“Here's the thing: People call and make phone calls and ask about players every day,” Adams said during a previously scheduled interview with The Instigators on WGR Radio. “My job is to listen. ... We have no intention and we're not looking to do anything with Jack.“

That is not the same thing. At all.

This is flat out leaving the possibility of trading him wide open by using the words “intention” and “Not looking to do anything”

It’s totally possible Eichel has already requested a trade

In the past? Of course it's possible. Seeing as his agent spoke up yesterday and said it's bullpoop, Imma take his word for it and move the (frank) on.

I ask gerbe to accept basic math concepts, doesn't mean he will.

I thought about Reinhart going in a Laine deal but they supposedly want a center which Sam failed at and a D this offseason and I wondered if Sam is going to make more money then they want to take back since they are looking to cut money. They will when Laine makes 10 a year and Sam makes 6+ mil but who knows if they even want him.

He's seen two of his former teammates hoist the cup while his current owner has set a hard cap and his GM pulled off getting a player from a nursing home to come here because they were former teammates, he's gotta be thrilled
- sbroads24

Wait until you see just how many teams are also setting a hard actual salary cap that is lower than the cap limit.

There will be many, many more than the Sabres doing that.

I'd be blown away if it was a 1:1 deal. I think any Laine deal is like 4-5 players involved, and Jack isn't one of them.

Exactly what Bill Zito the new GM of the Panthers said, which is it's his job to listen to every single call and offer, and it is also his job to say NO almost all the time.

It won't be a 1:1 deal and will probably be a 4 or 5 piece deal if it ever goes through and Reinhart might be one piece.

Laine is already making $6.75M per, which is right around what Reinhart is projected to sign for, and Laine has a QO of $7.5M coming up.

I'm half tongue in cheek, you know. I'm just having fun.

Do I believe that Jack expressed his frustration? Well, we all heard it.

Do I believe he actually said, in no uncertain terms, to trade him? Perhaps some internal frustration was conveyed to the former GM and ownership, and maybe in the heat of the moment he may have said some things, but do I think an unequivocal "trade me" was said? Nope.
