I think the larger problem is Ralph’s infatuation with Risto, dislike of Miller, And complete redundancy at 2RD.

Ok, than you need a defensive 2RD to play 1RD. Risto, Monte are not defensive defensemen. Miller would be the closest. Joker I think is a little green for that spot.

In 14 days you’ll have rfa designations, draft and free agency opening. A lot of the team will be shaped in 14 days...

However, peel back the layers for the Sabres and one easily sees that they currently have 4 of 2nd/3rd Pairing tweeners on the right side presently costing $13.5m and in a year IF nothing is done will likely be $15m. That IS a problem. The caveat is that Miller played the best as Dahlin's partner.

Now, Adams said they redid the Evaluations of the Draft Prospects with Analytics integrated into their rankings. The same is required for the Pro-player side, which I have to assume they did so in preparing for the upcoming Trade and FA season. Assuming that is true; it should also be obvious that Risto should be traded and 1 of Miller or Montour. Given Miller's ability to play with Dahlin, albeit small sample size, I'd vote to keep him and let Risto and Montour go to regain much needed Futures and Forwards.
