I can see 50-60 games with heavy back to back schedule.
- Pegullaville

So you need Hank for 15-20, tops 25. I think he still has enough gas left for that. He was elite for a very long time.

They still like Clifford, or was that a preference of yours?

Lewis would be a decent 4th liner for sure.

- Powerslave

Clifford was mine but I heard Lewis.

BUt how many games will the schedule be? I doubt its a full 82 game season.
- hubie

If they start in early Dec and tighten up the schedule they’ll award the cup at the end of July.

It might not be a bad thing either.

Lots of names floating around.

I love the Palmieri idea. That for sure shores up their 2nd line.

I agree. Had been thinking in the 60 game range.
Back to backs make a ton of sense to reduce travel costs as well, could even do 3 in 4 days, then have a couple days off, do the same in another city.
Right now they play about 13/14 a month, so if they did say 15, it would take 5-1/2 months, for a full 82 games...meaning playoffs start mid/late May and run well into July, giving them the opportunity to start the next season in Nov. if the choose to do so and fit in a normal season.

I still think 60 with less compacted games makes more sense though.

That's a bold strategy for a team that appears headed for a pretty quick decline.

Could do a lot worse than Hank.

Just have to hope Ullmark takes the next step in his development as well.

Sign me up.

And I actually think Anderson can play a line higher, but if you get that to succeed w Cozens up on 2, then you're really doing something.

- Powerslave

Anderson seems like a realistic player target.

Supposedly chatter last deadline
Unhappy in Columbus
Contract dispute wasnt good the last time w/ Columbus
Won't cost the Sabres a ton
Sabres need some size and new faces, probably take the chance on an injured player?

Dahlin and Olofsson both played with his twin brother for years in Frolunda as well.

The King is more of a jester at this point though.

- Pegullaville

πŸ˜€ funny

Would the jester really settle on Buffalo, the "defending" 9 time non playoff team.

Seems like he would have a better option or 2 ?
Including retirement

Wonder if the Sabres would need to be a "home team" out of ny state?

Maybe Hamilton? Copps Coliseum? Is that building still around?

About 25 -30 years ago, a buddy and I watched the Sabres/Canucks in a neutral site regular season game.

I think mogilny had the hattrick?

Maybe Toronto pays us the favor back of hosting the bluejays?
I could see Toronto be a hub city for a few teams?

If we're talking no bubble, I would think that playing games in Canada poses a bigger obstacle than in New York State.
