JR put it out there that they might stray to a lower internal cap but a few days later said he can spend to the cap if he wants to.

Yes... Rutherford said point blank, he spoke to ownership and they gave him permission to spend what he needs. This stupid Matheson contract pretty much confirms ownership isn't worried about money well into the future.

Probably wasn’t the smartest thing for ownership to do lol.

The whole front office seems pretty suspect to me. I’d like to see a normal hockey guy Like someone here be gm and see how he does. I don’t think by any means he would be the worst gm in the lg. Even RW would prob do a better job than JR

This has already been discussed and means nothing until a move is made.

Lafferty scores at a better rate in his lone NHL season. Their relative possession is fairly comparable. The comparison isn’t far off in terms of on ice value.
- Victoro311

That 5 points in his first 4 games when he had that call up adrenaline made Lafferty's numbers look better than he was.

He had 3 goals and 5 points after 4 games.

He had 3 goals and 8 points the 46 games after that to end the season.

I think making a public statement by throwing your former teams gear on your driveway for everyone to see is a douche move. Have some professionalism

Yeah, I also remember Lafferty standing out in a bad way in his lone playoff game. He definitely didn't look ready for primetime. Small sample I know, but Sammy looked out of his element. I think he can only be considered depth / injury call-up until further notice. If he were 4RW, people would be complaining about him. Now people will complain about Sceviour and say how Lafferty should be there instead. I think Sceviour is about as good as you'll find for $1.2M. Panthers fans sure like him.

I don’t see the issue with Sceviour. He’s basically what our 4th line was last year. Mostly D-zone starts, pk, constantly facing top lines with other 4th line team mates. I think of anything he should take tanev’s spot, the shut down line will hum right along and tanev can move up and maybe be the workhorse for one of the other lines point producers.

JMO... I think Laffs is a tweener. Not the worst call up, but I don't see an everyday NHL player. Hope I'm wrong.

That's what I see, too. He's a former 4th round pick who turns 26 this year and has yet to play a full season in the NHL. He'll probably get more chances but I think he's pretty close to his ceiling, if not at it already.

Did Perry play in the 2019 playoffs when the Isles swept the Pens?

If you're gonna call Stamkos a mental midget because he doesn't produce in the finals then what is Perry?

Average of the two Stars scorers and guys who were sacrificing the bod to stay alive... 35.5

Perry with 9 shots and 2 goals in an elimination game.

Pavs was with a goal and just lying in front of shots.

If you're having to block shots alot there's a good chance you're being outplayed, and the Stars were definitely being outplayed, but hockey is a sport that hard work and sacrifice can trump skill.

I'm fully rooting for Stars now. Was kinda indifferent to it, with a preference for Stars, but now I want to see them pull it off... Do I think they will? No, but that's the beauty of sports, anything can happen.

Holy (frank) bud change your tampon. Way too sensitive on a beautiful Sunday morning. Perry used to be a great player and he scored some key goals the last 2 games. Relax. Nobody thinks Simon is actually good. Useful but not good.

Actually the big take out of that is, Simon has priced himself out of Pittsburgh. Can't say I am disappointed.

Happy trails to Horndog, he will be missed. All he did was score goals. And helped on the power play. Oh, and scored cup clinching goal, in a very tight game. Come to think of it, he really is a good, solid player. He will be missed indeed.
