Sounds like there has indeed been significant interest in teams trading for Torey Krug's rights (@RearAdBsBlog on the case). My belief is last offer from #NHLBruins to Krug's camp was 6 years x $6.5 million.

Answers pretty simple. That small amount of extra cap flexibility this year might make the difference when it comes to signing Toffoli or whoever you're getting to replace Tanev.

Hopefully something happens soon, so we can enjoy the meltdown.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge NHL teams can loan an NHL player with an NHL contract to a team in Europe, such as Nils Höglander.
