Yzerman is going to build it slow and properly. In 2-3 years we will have one of the best talent pools in the league.

Holland's main focus right now is signing UFA Jimmy Howard. But once this happens Holland can acquire Abdelkader, Nielsen and Dekeyser for McDavid and Draisaitl.

Like the Staal pick up. While he is not the player he once was, he gives the Wings a third steady veteran (along with DeKeyser and Nemeth) with a left shot to partner with their young more mobile RH shots (Hronek, Sieder, Lindstrom and perhaps Drysdale). Not bad for eating a contract and getting a bonus pick in 2021 to boot.

Like the Gagner move too. Veteran RH shot for the bottom six, low dollars. Why not? I expect now that Abby will be sent to the AHL this year (if it starts up) and maybe bought out next year?

Cannot see the Wings being able to trade up to get Askarov. He's likely not getting out of the top 10. However, I could see them moving some of those picks for some younger RFA's. Mind you it is said to be a really deep draft. He could hang on to all picks and even look for more.

If they are able to have fans at LCA, MAF would bring them in! This is about the business of making money, sooner not later. MAF would get more viewers to the TV set also!
