If that is the asking price he will be staying in Winnipeg. If the Jets are serious about moving him they need to be realistic. If he goes out and puts up forty, Jets will pay through the nose on his next deal. Can they afford that?

If the Jets trade Laine for they may fill one hole but would create a larger one in Laine's spot. What the Jets have to get is a true, play making center to play with Laine and Ehlers and two big, physical, stay at home d-men. Laine isn't going anywhere.

I don't think Ehlers should play with Laine. Ehlers has a cannon of a shot and should be the focal point of his own line. I see Ehlers scoring between 40-50 goals, if he is not with Laine.

I would do Ghost and two first round picks. And would give in on one of our more promising prospects to replace a pick with a player closer like Morgan Frost.

2 picks in the teens or later and a number 4 d? Yeah. That’s it though.

Islanders offer Pulock , 2021 1st, and Eberle to take Laine spot.
- iggy

I love Pulock, and the 1st is nice, but including Eberle almost subtracts from the deal. I’d say substitute a good, young player or top prospect instead.

He is worth more than that! I am thinking a 2C, top 4D and two first round picks!

Well that's just silly.

Instead of Meat, give them REAL meat, as in Weber w/$1.5M retained!

Hmm think most teams would rather have a top 2 D over a 40 goal scorer...

Ekblad for Laine...and Florida's D would be? Super yuck.

Top 4 D and a 1st is reasonable...adding more wouldn't be worth it for no team. Unless it was for a CONSISTENT 50 goal scorer...key word consistent.

If the asking price is Two 1st rounders and a Top 4D, then they will probably end up getting a 1st, a 4D with potential and a mid-tier prospect. If history tells us anything then the asking price is always much higher than what is received.

Forget Ghost as he's mistake prone Flyer signing mistake that has trouble staying in their lineup and the Jets have enough 5/6 d-men. Provorov, Patrick, if he passes a physical, and either Frost or a 1st get the Jets to listen as you know that Laine is a special talent that don't come on the market very often.

Either way you slice it Bergy still has to get a goal scorer or 2 in here. No more excuses. Can't just bank on small injury prone players like the Byrons and Drouins to bounce back every year. Been there done that.

Provorov for Laine straight up would get a laugh and hang up.

Teams don't trade young 40 goal scorers that could be 50 goal scorers...they hand them a blank check and tell them whatever they want and move out everyone else if they have to.

Yet Winnipeg is doing the opposite...statement made Damaged Goods.

Good luck with your quest for a king's ransom.

Pulock would be amazing; great player and a local boy. Counter proposal, though: Keep Eberle and the your 2021 1st . . . . .

We'll trade you Laine, Roslovic, Perreault and a 3rd Round Pick for Pulock, Beauvellier, Ladd, and your 2020 1st Rounder.

Both teams are surrendering 2 good young players, but along with trading you an elite 40-50 goal scorer, we will also take a bad contract off your books. Remember, too, that your pick this year is late in the first round thanks to your amazing playoff. (Of course I would hope Winnipeg can trade their 2 1st rounders to move up in this draft!)

Any Hab offer that includes Domi is a definite no from the Jets. Montreal should keep Domi, sign him for an expensive contract he doesn't deserve.
