I don’t watch any AHL games either so I don’t have a real sense of how good Bellows is but to me having some cost controlled young talent on this club should be paramount on this team. When we have a third line of Pageau and random plugs from what little I saw of Bellows he seemed like a player that may move the needle a bit more then Brassard or Kuhnackl if given the opportunity.

Komarov is just a given he’s not going anywhere of course but I wish they would invest a little time in Bellows and try to fix the negatives in his game. Again, I say this as someone who saw very little of the kid but he didn’t seem to be a lost cause from what I saw? Maybe he is/was?

Have to agree Cpt. Lou and Barry have been great but they need to do better in getting young players developed and especially young forwards and to have more patience with young talent overall.

If Lameriello can improve the team and capitalize on whatever value the kid has I’m all for it but if not it would be nice to see these kids get a legit shot and an opportunity to stick.

Agreed. Just make sense to me to put some young players with a talent like Pageau and Pageau can help bring something more out of them and you save Cap space and save not having to give up assets.

Precisely what I was thinking.

The next comment will go one of two ways:

Lee and Nelson will be his evidence despite them not being full-time Sound Tigers in 6 and 7 years, respectively. Not going to call that "recent years".

or

He's going to tell me Barzal and Beauvillier, who don't even apply to the conversation

I was thinking bailey when he got sent there for two weeks or whatever it was. I think we can agree that whatever he crapped on this page would’ve been stoooooooopid.

Strangely, a lot of the D core -- Pelech, Pulock, Toews, Mayfield -- came up through Bridgeport. You wonder if there was more talent to work with in recent years than at F, or if there's something else going on that's a dead-end for forwards developing their offensive game there.

Pelech and Mayfield really struggled before Barry. Seems crystal clear Isles need a new coach at Bridge. Whatever Thompson is doing is not working and especially with Forwards and goalies. Only Adam Gase is worse at developing offense than Thompson.

Article from NHL.com quoting Lou on current RFA’s, UFA’s and his potential willingness to dump salary if necessary.

It's shockingly true and rather confusing, considering they have had decent picks over the last 6 years. You would think 1 would have made it. Made me think, and the last 2 forwards who were promoted and stuck were Lee and Nelson......6 or 7 years ago. So...

Whatever happened to Tanner Fritz? It seemed he was making a good impression, then hurt his hand and hasn't been seen since.

It's a tough crew to break into and get some real playing time to make it stick. No room, and Barry seems very impatient with young forwards.

Me neither.

B&B didn't develop in the AHL.

Isles are in a very tight cap situation for the next 2 years, and some very good players are at risk. I hope Lou has some major tricks up his sleeves. I won't be happy if we lose Pulock and/or Toews this year. If we clear this year intact, Beau and Pelech are at risk next year.

I don't know NJ or Rangers cap situation, but a compliance trade of JB and/or Ladd would be sweet, even if we eat a bit of their hit. I doubt either would block a close to home trade, even if they could.

You’re so dumb that you don’t realize that line was a jab at you. Can’t make this stuff up.

You're the dumb one for not wording it better and leaving the door open for me to turn your jab back on you. You're even dumber for not getting the fishing double entendre, which would have told you I knew EXACTLY what you were doing.

I CAN make this stuff up, but I don't because it's more fun watching you act it out.

I would say Lou and Trotz have done a good job developing Barzal and Beau and honestly are still developing both into the top two way pros they can be.

As far as prospects other than Lou’s picks that were and are stuck in the AHL for the most part suck. Also I would add if a young player were a better option in the lineup than a vet, I fully believe that that said prospect would be in the lineup. As far as forward prospects in BP other than Wahlstrom and Holmstrom nobody down there really scream NHL future and they may never. I think these two will both be NHL at some point. Just my opinion of course.

Sorry to say that includes the better Aho

Shame on you picking on Aho.

Barzal is a special talent and even did well before Barry. I'm more referring to someone like Bellows. He had a nice couple of goals and only got 8 games last year and the 3rd line before Pageau was lousy. Have to think Otto could have gotten some time as 4C with Casey always hurt wit Matt and Cal helping him out. Lou and Barry just seem to not trust young players as a whole and are too quick to rely on vets and even not great vets like Leo. Sorry I know he is a favorite of yours.

Lou and Barry are going to have to develop more young skilled talent especially with the Cap not going up for a few years. New Blog.

Talent is a given. Learning to play the game the right way is another big piece. That’s what Barzal and Beau are learning. I think you will see Wahlstrom on the team next year.
Leo does what’s asked of him and more. Everyone has a job and if they do it it works. PK was great in the POs Was Bellows gonna be a PKer? I don’t think so. That’s why Leo was there, and his play off the puck. Honestly I thought Bellows looked lost away from the puck and as I think Chief said, doesn’t skate very well. Again my opinions.
