Bowman is hopefully making calls to Bergevin to inquire.
@grantmccagg
Bergevin tells @TonyMarinaro he is willing to trade prospects and first picks. This is the first time I've ever heard him say that. I agree that now is the time...there is enough young quality depth to try to get better now. - Theo Fox
I am just not sure if dropping down one slot gets you Askarov or into the "elite eleven"...
Not trying to stir the pot but did anyone hear (Eklund) Boqvist going to Arizona for Kuemper and Christian Fischer.
It just sounds too far fetched but you wonder if another decision concerning long term rostered prospects COULD be made?
This wasn't from the internet. It was from someone who knows a Hawk organization guy who has soured on Adam ant.
There I stirred it.

You all are welcome I love doing it. JJ hasn't contacted me about squat, and I need a forum.
One ask...I would live tom see Mckeen's download but I really =dont need a subscription...Do they sell their draft guide...I like to read the competition, especially now when I am close to done, and made up my mind on what I THINK I know... - wiz1901
Do your thing and don't worry about input from so called "experts". There is politics with those guys that most likely can have an effect on their rankings. In the past decade, no matter if we agree or not, I have come to see you as a straight shooter. A bit of a whack job, but a well intentioned straight shooter. I'd suggest you stay that way. |

Hard to believe they can sour on a boy before he becomes a man? Look no further than Nick Leddy. He wasn't the sharpest tack in the drawer when a Blackhawk besides not being fully grown.

fisher a 23 year old 5th line wing that had 9pts in 56 games and terrible metrix. boquist was not bad playing top line minutes at 19 (bad Vs Vegas) I might conisder boquist and matta for dvorak and kumper. assuming you can trade strome for D help. dvorak is good at faceoffs and has good metrics

Yeah, McKeen's and another 1-2 prospect sites sell their draft guides. I haven't shelled out money to buy them as I figure there are plenty of other sites out there that offer insights at no cost.
No knock to McKeen's as I like their stuff. Just don't feel like spending more money right now. |

He didn't look so good, little shaky - BetweenTheDots
Bettman: perhaps he was just relieved that they got thru the two months with good hockey and without problems.
A very stressful time for the “suits”, I would think, and (being away from family for so long) players. |

I think he's been doing that for the past few years. I seem to remember noticing it during the cup final and draft last year. |

Played in Cap Friendly this morning and this is my thought for a revamp to keep them competitive:
https://www.capfriendly.c.../armchair-gm/team/1962804 - ikeane
Interesting. I've got a couple questions:
1) Why get Keumper and Georgiev? I would say get Georgiev and back fill with one of the prospects we already have.
2) Why sign Borowiecki to be #7? Is he much of an improvement over 4K?
I'm beating a dead horse here, but why bring in Jesper? Outside of being related to Adam, is he worth anything? |

Without looking it up he made more all-star teams than Crawford and Crawford had a much better team in front of him for more years than Ward. I'm not a homer even if I do root for Chicago. It's blasphemy but I root for the Cubs and the Sox. - rpeters01
It is ok to cheer for both teams. You are a baseball fan first, the particular chicago team secondly. It is not like a sports cartoon fall 2005 showing a Cubs fan peeking out from a manhole cover! I bet that you do cheer for one Chicago team over the other when they play interleague games.
One strategy I detest nowadays is the trend to load up on power hitters and not manufacture runs. Who likes watching both teams strike out so so so much. Being more a baseball traditionalist I like all elements of the game to be inherent

Alex Vlasic gets invite to U.S. camp as well as 2020 draft prospects that I hope Chicago has on their list (Thomas Bordeleau, Brendan Brisson, Brett Berard, Sean Farrell, Drew Commesso).
I'm not as high on Sam Colangelo and Luke Tuch but wouldn't be upset taking them as power forwards. The others I mentioned have stronger compete levels and consistent efforts, IMO.

I would like to see that Vlasic has taken a step. I was really high on him when they drafted him, but a lot of what I've read about him is that he needs to figure out what kind of D-man he's wants to be. |

Theo, any word on how Slavin is progressing, Q was high on him when he was in camp 2 years ago. Isn't he projected as a power forward?

1) goaltending by committee from 2 players that have shown they can win.
2)Borowiecki is a foot soldier and appears to be more consistent than 4K.
Jesper seems like a mid six versatile winger and may offer support for Adam, so potential win-win?

Aside from differing views on how to handle the goalie position, I like it. I don't like the Jesper angle, but I get why you went there. Thanks for the ideas. |

Exactly. This is a good opportunity for Vlasic to prove he can be a shutdown defender as a blueliner who is more defensively wired but still has puck moving skills to transition the puck. Take advantage of his size, reach, and active stick.
IMO, it would be in the Hawks best interest to groom Vlasic in that role. All blueliners need to skate well which he does but they all shouldn't be mail carriers. Balance is needed and Vlasic can be part of that solution. |

Not much on Slavin from what I've read or heard. He just finished his freshman year. He wasn't horrible but not much fanfare either. I expect him to complete college then see where he's at.
If he hits potential, he would be excellent as that coveted bottom 6 winger who can play the body, grind it out, and wreak havoc in the corners and slot (i.e. Barclay Goodrow and Blake Coleman).
As you alluded to, he did well in that role in prospect camps at least. Hope he can translate that to the pros in due time. |
