We have lots of forward prospects for bottom lines, although Sikura has a higher skill set than them. Some reason someone just didn't like him..i know they had him working on a couple of things. To just let him go for nothing probably is just what wiz guessed: let Sikura get an opportunity elsewhere because he wasn't going to get it here.. - jhawk59
didn't LIKE him?
He simply didn't score or drive the plays at the NHL level ... I don't think it had anything to do with "liking his upside." because we never truly saw much, did we?
I agree I would want something other than a re-thread but obviously he wasn't "liked" by many. nhl GMs elsewhere either.

Canadian Jr players get room and board plus a small allowance. They also get a year of university tuition for every year of service to the league. - SaskHawkFan
they lose that scholarship eligibility if they play any pro at any level though.
So if a guy plays for 2 months in the ECHL they lose that tuition. |

I wonder if maybe they figure Pirri could be flipped into another trade? I agree I think he is AHL bound if the Hawks keep him. I would have to think they've decided Sikura wasn't going to have a future here and they wanted at least something for him. - breadbag
I think it's much simpler. This board is the only place that views Sikura as an NHL player. |

Dude's 25 year old. Not sure how much of a "prospect" he really is anymore anyway. |

Apparently some on this board thought he had some offensive ability. His collegiate career and eagerness to sign him lifted expectation. You say he didn't drive play. I do think he could have proven to score occasionally had he stuck around. But he just didn't show enough ...
Pirri is the replacement if he is willing to play in Rockford. Just as injury recall & maybe could be productive on PP if he gets the opportunity.
Our draft fortune seems tied to one or more teams drafting someone earlier than your projection, wiz..Do some top rated as in top 17 prosoects, falls to us |

Hey, if he turns it around and figures it out, good on him and I'll congratulate him. At 25/26 and been given the chances he has, I have my doubts. |

With all their big boys he can play a different game if and when he ever plays for Vegas. |

Since we pick 17, I'm going to guess that at least one of the top 17 falls to us. |

Bingo, I am curious what you think about the HermanCanes drafting Askarov besides signing one?

Hey all, I know it's tough with Bowman focusing on minor league moves right now but let's ramp down the COVID and political talk.
It's fine if these topics converge directly with sports, especially the NHL and the Blackhawks, then that establishes relevance; otherwise, we start devolving into attacks.
Keep things respectful. - Theo Fox
Please respect the request above, I am asking nicely, but this is the only warning, no more political posts period.
Thanks. |

"HermanCanes"
I really, really want them to draft Askarov, but also think they need another goaltender for the immediate next two years.
I would guess they try to pry Kuemper out of Arizona (James Reimer with $3.5 million cap hit and only $850k owing should be attractive to the Yotes as well as some draft picks).
Basically cover your ass with somebody to keep you competitive for two years and then sink or swim with a legitimate goaltending prospect.

My preference anyways: 48 games getting to a tournament starting and completing on time - then 2021-22 can start on time with a full offseason.
Return to normalcy at least chronologically, if not with regard to revenues. |

wait you guys draft after us?
Anyway you take whichever of Mercer, Quinn or Jarvis is still available.
Otherwise it's Zary. - BINGO!
Yeah, its what happens when you are able to win in the play-in round.
Holloway before Zary. The 3 you named would ideal. |

Lapierre is considered one of the most talented players in the draft who can also excel in all zones. His injury concern is a primary reason for his draft stock being so low as far as 1st rounders.
Had he not have this injury, I would think he goes top 10. High risk, high reward. - Theo Fox

To what end?
Glad Sikura may get a real chance in the Vegas Show, but what does a 29 year old Pirri do for Chicago?
Other than bringing back another former player.... - StLBravesFan Change od scenery for Sikura and Pirri is RFD bound. Salaries are equal. Well, Pitti makes 5K more. Sikura's is a one way. Don't know or really care about Pirri.

The stock market is a future flexion on the growth a d investment into the economy as well as the health of our country. Remember you have pension plans, peoples 401ks those are plenty of middle class people who benefit from a healthy stock market.
