It is ok to cheer for both teams. You are a baseball fan first, the particular chicago team secondly. It is not like a sports cartoon fall 2005 showing a Cubs fan peeking out from a manhole cover! I bet that you do cheer for one Chicago team over the other when they play interleague games.

One strategy I detest nowadays is the trend to load up on power hitters and not manufacture runs. Who likes watching both teams strike out so so so much. Being more a baseball traditionalist I like all elements of the game to be inherent

- jhawk59

Put a spike through my head if the Cubs don't strike out 10 times a game and the Sox don't only because they have Anderson. Schwarber could hit .250 with his eyes closed if he wanted too instead of .190.

Hard to believe they can sour on a boy before he becomes a man? Look no further than Nick Leddy. He wasn't the sharpest tack in the drawer when a Blackhawk besides not being fully grown.

Bowman risks some of his skill top prospects getting concussed because other teams for most part do not get pay back after our guys are checked or banged up in deliberate rough mugging. Even legal checks most each occurrence our players don't do anything. Oh Cagg's does somewhat and Shaw and Murphy will be heard from - just them. Toews so so? Can't win in this league if lacking grit. Boqvist is a target of the ruffians. Too many pacifists on the Blackhawks. Well Carlsson will help but overall this team is lacking players who cycle and are tough like Vegas showed us

I have preaching this point for long time i m not advocating for goons but a few player that play with an edge and nastiness to there game. And will respond to teammate being taken advantage of. Hawks need to find these types of players to have balance to their lineup a great example is Tampa last year Columbus beat the poop out of them with physical domination so what did tampa do they addressed it gooddrow colman bogosian marroon brought that physicality that was missing and finally won a cup. A good balance of skill speed size heart and physicality makes a stanley cup champion and hawks lacking in a lot of these areas imo.

Bowman is hopefully making calls to Bergevin to inquire.

@grantmccagg

Bergevin tells @TonyMarinaro he is willing to trade prospects and first picks. This is the first time I've ever heard him say that. I agree that now is the time...there is enough young quality depth to try to get better now.

Not sure if this is verified anywhere, but according to the Buffalo blogger:

Adams said Tuesday that he is willing to consider to trade the eighth overall pick in the talent rich 2020 NHL Draft.

Aside from everything, what does Buffalo really need?

I think he's been doing that for the past few years. I seem to remember noticing it during the cup final and draft last year.

Might be an out there hunch but I can see Bowman parting ways with Crawford and sign Lundqvist to a one-year deal (say no more than $2M) to buy time to sort out the goalie situation.

I really hope Bowman doesn't mortage prospects and draft picks for Kuemper. If he must really have Kuemper, find another way to acquire him.

Hagel loaned to HC Thurgau of the Swiss League until training camp opens, whenever that will be now. The original date was November 17.

Agreed 200% main reason not to trade Saad who people forget is also a first line penalty killer. I truly feared for Boqvist against Vegas. Keith is small but very good at slashing if you take a cheap shot at him. Besides the gym it would behoove Dach to take boxing lessons this offseason and I am totally not joking. Beat the crap out of somebody and the cheap shots will stop. Nobody picks on Thornton.

I want to hold on to Saad. We need more players like him, so we can't afford to lose the one Saad we've got.

Played in Cap Friendly this morning and this is my thought for a revamp to keep them competitive:

I’m a Jost fan, it would be nice to add him. DeBrusk is streaky, he had an off season this year.
