I know he was slowed by a shoulder injury, but I forget exactly when that happened. Also, Delia came on strong later in the year (after dealing with some personal issues earlier in the year), so I think he stole some of Lankinen's thunder.

I'm less concerned with goalie age (to a point obviously) when coming up and developing their game.

- Chunk

That's a good way to characterize the Rockford goalie situation last year. After Delia got past the personal issues, his confidence soared and started to overshadow Lankinen.

That overshadowing shouldn't be mistaken for Lankinen struggling, though, as he was fine (i.e. he hit a plateau but didn't regress).

What I like about Lankinen over Delia is that he doesn't get rattled by a bad goal. Delia can lose focus more frequently; he's either really locked in or the opposite. Lankinen is more even steven.

Both are still worth developing either way. Tomkins, too. I wouldn't count him out as he's no longer a distant 3rd.

Taylor is incorrect. Our exposure percentage in the USA is less than 5%. We need to get to 60-70% on COVID to hit 'herd'. It's still a long way to go without a vaccine.
- scottak

No did you read or listen to the most recent update ? The percentages talked about where anywhere from 19%to to 24% percent which many doctors believe that is at or near the point of herd immunity that's why they believe new york has possibly reached it

Hell, I thought ir was some kind of bourbon until I found this on Wikipedia.

Arrack is a distilled alcoholic drink typically produced in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, made from the fermented sap of coconut flowers or sugarcane, and also with grain (e.g. red rice) or fruit depending upon the country of origin. It is sometimes spelled arak,[1] or simply referred to as 'rack or 'rak.[2] It is not to be confused with the anise-flavored distilled spirit called Arak or Araq

I'd rather have Sikura, to be honest but whatever. It was inevitable that he wasn't going to get his chance to play in the NHL with the Blackhawks. Best wishes to him. Hope he makes it.
- Theo Fox

Me too, but for whatever reason Colliton wasn't going to play him so it's best for him to get a shot somewhere else.

I thought it looked like a bourbon too. After reading this, he doesn't have to share.

Sweet! Another better goalie that we can count on for half a season. At least one of Lankinen, Delia, or Subban should be right behind him and get time playing.

Hopefully, this means Stan is at least being proactive and not waiting on Crow.

Give em Maatta. Yotes buy Maatta out, then Stan can sign him on a cheaper deal.

Ok. So serious about that first sentence at least

Someone posted in a previous blog what AZ was wanting for Kuemper, but I can't remember what it was. Assuming pick 17 is off the table, what else would we have, and are willing to trade, that they would want?

Kuemper yes

OEL not a chance, to much term left and his performace has dropped

You know I am starting to like Dylan Sikura a lot all of a sudden. I am beginning to hate that Stan traded him. Oh well, at least Stan gave us something we can complain about for years to come after Sikura plays in a few NHL all-star games and Pirri never makes an AHL all-star game..

Bowman would be stupid enough to trade the 17th pick for kuemper who has a higher cap hit than what was offered to crow. Yea

Interesting loophole or whatever you want to call it. Works out for the player but not sure how that impacts NCAA eligibility in the long run.

@coreypronman

2020 eligible prospect Sean Farrell is going back to the USHL/Chicago for the 2020-21 season. He will stay enrolled at Harvard and take online courses.

Btw, Sean Farrell is one to watch as someone to draft in the 3rd or 4th round. Great compete level and excellent offensive skill. He's small so could be the next Dylan Sikura.

Do USHL players get paid?. If not it shouldn't effect their collegiate eligibility.

Another Sikura type? If the Hawks draft him he could be dealt in a minor deal in 6 or 7 years.

Many know that NFL defensive end J.J. Watt played hockey growing up. Talk about power forward that the Hawks could use in the lineup.

Good question, I've always wondered the same thing. From those who have a better grasp of Canadian juniors, do the players get paid at all?

My guess is no similar to high school players not being able to get paid since they're the same age bracket. I could be wrong.

We have lots of forward prospects for bottom lines, although Sikura has a higher skill set than them. Some reason someone just didn't like him..i know they had him working on a couple of things. To just let him go for nothing probably is just what wiz guessed: let Sikura get an opportunity elsewhere because he wasn't going to get it here

I am deflated more though as I had hope for Moberg. But when Theo says he starts in ECHL and needs three or more years, this is not a genuine prospect. He had glowing comments in a prospect camp and his style is what we need to complement the offensive prospects on defense. Now just possibly Bowman could surprise and take that one dman who plays it rough and is close to NHL ready (but needs work on handling puck?).

Canadian Jr players get room and board plus a small allowance. They also get a year of university tuition for every year of service to the league.

I think I am banned from the Athletic commentary section.

I type something in, it posts, I see, and then in a. minute it disappears.

Someone posted, "I think the Hawks can get Brandon Pirri", and I replied, yeah they did long before the 12 minutes ago you posted this...
