That's true, I've seen lieberals online celebrating the high unemployment rate in Alberta and going to the lengths of even laughing at suicides resulting of that.

Before covid hit the unemployment rate among young men in Alberta was nearing 20%, levels not seen since the 80's and they celebrate things like that.

you are correct. people in the GTA hate alberta for the obvious reason. alberta would be better off starting the separation ball rolling. i'd wager saskatchewan would join in. BC would by necessity go its own way along with the brotherly Yukon. Then Ontario and its puppy manitoba would be left to deal with Quebec... lols.

Alberta is definitely the Texas I'm Joe Rogan'ing my ass to Alberta or the Territories once they make the taxes more unbearable in Ontario. Only a matter of time. They're just going to keep finding new ways to tax Canadians so they can pay back all that money they've been stealing.

I think what happens in 20-21 is players lose 20% of there revenue to help cover the lost REV so a player making $10 mil per year would actually only get 8 mil. Teh harder issue is guys that signed before Corona are also going to make 20% more then guys that sign this year. So the RFA and UFa is going to sign for way less and also give up 20% of what he signs for. IE a guy that signed for $5 per year back in JAN the identical player is only going to get 3.5 and they both lose 20% .

Or they just hire an accountant. You can get around most of the tax difference with a retirement compensation arrangement. The tax also is only on the signing bonus and the home games. The actual difference also isn't nearly as big as some people would have you think. They bring up the states with 0 state income tax but ignore the fact that they're still paying close 40% from federal taxes.
