Feel good for Tampa, they’ve been such a well run franchise for many years. The hardest trophy in pro sports to win was extremely difficult to win being isolated for three months from the outside world. |

Hedman is the key to it all, it takes a team to win but you gotta have that guy back there. |

You got to love the shots back to Tampa with no masks and social distancing. They deserve everything they get. But its over for this team and the Stars all down hill from here. |

As a personal rule I don't trust anyone named Squire. He'll definitely get more money elsewhere if he wants it. But 7 mil is steep. - Load Management

Just dominant. Did everything at a level that isn't seen very often. |

Well, that’s that. I’m not going to lie, I’m going to miss playoff hockey in August, but I hope that I never have to see it again. |

Isles were stupid not to draft him but the Bolts were brilliant drafters no luck involved. |

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Next August is probable. I just hope the empty arena becomes a thing of the past sooner than later. |

Stars have one of the best young dmen in the league. A good mix of vets and kids. Could run again next year no problem. |

I put money on both tampa and hedman connsmythe before the bubble started. Most ive ever won on sportsbets. This team could repeat even though they need to jettison a few guys. Tyler Johnson makes a tom of sense. |

Seeing him and then realizing that he only has one Norris, compared to Orr (8) and Lidstrom (7)...rare talents. Would love to see Canucks get lucky enough to find someone of their stature.
FWIW, I absolutely love Hughes, but he is one dimensional compared to Hedman.... (or Josi, Hieskanen, Werenski, Makar, Sergachev....who are all situations players) |

Pretty impressive haul by Al Murray, TBL director of amateur scouting:
2009 - Hedman (1)
2011 - Kucherov (Rd 2); Palat (7)
2012 - Vasilevskiy (1); Paquette (4)
2013 - Drouin (1); trade Sergachev
2014 - Point (3)
2015 - Cirelli (3)
2019 - Nolan Foote (1); trade Coleman
————————————————————
Above is a tweet from Mike Morreale, staff writer for the NHL, no matter how you view it, that’s an impressive ten years of drafting. Tampa sucked in 2008 & 2009, thus they got the first overall in 08 and the second overall in 09. Stamkos and Hedman.
Canucks sucked in 2016 & 2017 which lead to two 5th overall picks, I’m hopeful that’s the start of our great run of drafting as Benning and company have had an impressive run, even with a few misses in there, that should make the Canucks a competitive team for a decade if they keep building on that. Hopefully it leads to a Stanley Cup!
2014 - Virtanen (1); Demko (2); Tryamkin (3)
2015 - Boeser (1); Gaudette (5)
2016 - Juolevi (1) [ hopefully]
2017 - Pettersson (1); Rathbone (4)
2018 - Q. Hughes (1) |

I had to enter the name of a newborn into a system at work the other day and her middle name was Scotland. |
