Just give me one of six guys, anyone of Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Perfetti, Drysdale, or Sanderson at 7 and i'll be very happy with the pick. Please just no Askarov or Quinn. |

I'm still trying to forget we could've had not just one, but 2 of those high potential players. It would've been a no-brainer to get Sanderson and a forward to solidify both the defense and office. what an opportunity that would've been. meh oh well. At least my car wasn't totaled 3 weeks ago and got let go from a decent job of 4 years yesterday. The beat goes on. |

We are 100% not trading for Hall's rights. We had them and that didn't work out, remember! haha
I think it would be a mistake to help out TB with Johnson. There are few teams with the cap space needed to alleviate TB's current pickle. Why help them out when we want to make a run at the young talent they're currently scrambling to make the room to keep? With a few players as RFA's, unless one of those players come to NJ and they sign, no way we should help the team with the cup. Same with Blues. Cap space is the biggest leverage we have. Hoping Fitz finds a way to get some young talent, draft a strong player at 7OA and keeps 1 of the later picks to swing for the fences.
B/c of the cap situation, is this the year an offer sheet is more than clickbait? - ShoresideDevil
Nobody should trade for Hall’s rights. Yes, us especially. But he’s a smart guy and wants to control free agency so it’s silly to waste assets on Gus rights. |

Only helps for the extra year where it may reduce the cap
But you only have 2-3 days to negotiate so unless you know there's a good chance it is a better idea to wait especially since you know he isn't staying in Arizona |

Great point about the cap hit.
I don't have anything against Hall for how this played out, but I'm glad we aren't looking at going 8 years on him. I'm curious to see what he gets in this crazy market. |

Please lord, let someone else take lucas raymond before the devils pick. The last thing the devils need is jocob joesfson 2.0!! Holtz is the safe pick, but maybe the devils can get lucky and drysdale falls in there lap? |

Raymond is nothing like Josefson, what lol, thats insulting to Raymonds level of skill lol. The talent level between the 2 going into their draft years isnt even comparable. He'd be a steal for whoever gets him if he falls outside of the top 5, but i fully expect him to be gone before we pick |

I think something really weird needs to happen for Drysdale to be at 7. |

I could see it happening, i think its more likely to happen now then i thought a month or so ago. If the top 3 goes as planned, Detroit could go Perfetti, Ottawa could go Sanderson, and Anaheim could go Rossi/Raymond, then Drysdale falls to us. Weird things happen in every draft, although I wouldnt bet on it. But either way we're in a great spot, we're getting a top tier prospect! Just hope we dont take Askarov lol |

If Drysdale somehow ends up at 7 I'll be very happy. And this season can't get much worse if we take Askarov. |

Absolutely. Was a pretty creative guy when it came to topic ideas and had no problem giving his opinion on devils players. He was entertaining... and knowledgeable.
This guy, well... I’m not convinced he knows much about the devils, has 9 articles since August 4th... Tampa Bay winning the cup and a Kovy thread of all things... 🥱 |

The remark about raymond had nothing to do with his stats, it had to do with he is another small forward who made his bones on the wide european rink, whose game won't translate to NHL rinks, much like josefson, tedneby and bergfors. |

I never said anything about stats either. The talent/skill level between the two isnt comparable. Raymond is going to be a fantastic NHLer, whether we get him or not |

Yeah stupid line of thinking. Too bad i was right about the tedenby pick, the joesfson pick, the larsson pick, and of course the never ending zacha pick. Let us not forget the schnieder trade. Seems like my stupid line of thinking is just as long as the devils streak of lost seasons? |
