I'm happy with Holtz because we didn't completely (frank) it and take Askarov but not the best pick in my mind.

The only thing that scared me there was the Devils following the we need more 2 way forwards and trading down or going off the board and grabbing Lundell.

I suppose the pick makes sense if you think Holtz is going to play right away and then you're going to move Palmieri for other assets. Not sure.

I could see them keeping Palmieri and slotting Holtz on the 2nd line this year considering we’re pretty weak on the right side.

Holtz is what they need, they have enough guys that can protect puck, play two-way, etc. They need someone who can shoot and score once in a while

Looking at the board, assuming teams value defense and Schneider and Guhle are gone at 18 I’d be thrilled with Seth Jarvis or Holloway there.

With our owners, I see them dumping players through the bad economy and just deal with the team being trash for another 2-3 years and build almost exclusively through the draft/trades.

Unfortunately this is true. Shame of it is, they could probably keep Palmieri at a bit of a discount since this is home for him and he would have the opportunity to play in the top 6 with Hughes or Nico for the foreseeable future.

I think Foote was probably better than some of the forwards we iced last year. I'd imagine he gets every chance to make the team.

Kuokkanen and Merkley are two guys that could challenge to make the team too.

Five more picks left, gotta figure one of Schneider, Guhle, Jarvis or Holloway will be there for sure.

Seeing how questionable the start of the CHL leagues seasons are, I think they'll just put Foote in the NHL so he can get experience regardless of whether he's ready or not.

To me Kuokkanen is definitely going to play after the great year he had in the AHL.

It's why I think Palms is on the way out because they have some really good young options who could take a step up this year and contend for roster spots.

Merkley looked good and had snarl the few games he played and think he'd be good on the 4th line to start


I like that holtz will be a weapon on the PP if he is on the same PP line as palms that's 2 shooting options

The way this team played everyone should get a look to be honest.

Hoping Jarvis falls to us, but doubt it. If not give me Amirov or Perreault
