Islanders have two goalies and no cap space (after RFA's signed)
I only see a 1 Million dollar 3rd goalie signing at best....maybe to deal with expansion exposure rules-
I don't see Anderson continuing to be a third goalie at small $'s.

I can see Varlamov being the number one till the halfway mark whenever that is and Sorokin will eventually grab the number one. At least I am sure that is the plan. Like in NYR, Shesterkin, Sorokin and ufa Timur Bilyalov are the three best goalies in the KHL. Bilyalov will be here in 2021-22 season, book it as you heard it here first.

I should add Timur Bilyalov would have been here this year but Covid concerns and season uncertainty had him sign for one more year in KHL. The NHL is his dream and his stats are as good or better than Shesterkin and Sorokin, just turned 25. According to my sources 9 nhl teams have talked to him and he is coming eventually.

why exactly is that crazy? Talbot had better numbers last year, and is significantly more experienced. Blackwood is 23 and has a total of 70 games of NHL experience, he's far from a lock for the starting job in NJ.

I guess you don't watch the Devil's too much. They are thrilled with Blackwood and he is heading in the right direction. They will not make him a backup to Talbot, not even in your dreams. Talbot has had three bad years in a row and at his age no team in the nhl will be considering him in a starter role. That is my opinion and if you do a poll on this I would get 95% in my favor.

I don't watch the devils that much, was basing my opinion largely on stats and age. I have no doubt that Blackwood is the future of that team, but figured the devils might want to bring in a vet as maybe a 1B option......someone better than Schneider.

maybe it's not Talbot, but I would expect them to bring in someone. usually not a good idea to have a young team playing in front of a young unproven goalie.....at least most NHL teams don't do it very often.

Fair enough and I agree. You did say Talbot to start and I disagree but stranger things have happened, ie Devan Dubnyk waived a few times and became a legit starter in Minnesota. I do believe Schneider will be bought out but they may also just live with him to help Blackwood on his way to stardom.

It's hard to move around the crease with your goalie pants pulled up to your nipples!! And the pre-game meal at 7:30am doesn't give them the kind of energy they need to compete!!

Hutton won't be coming back to STL. They're going to let Husso try the big club. If anyone, Reimer might be signed, just because they could dump him in the minors if need be should Husso pan out. I don't think they'd try to do that to Hutts.
