Stop predicting the Islanders. They have Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin. They’re not signing freaking Craig Anderson. |

I would think that most teams don't ever want to go into a season where your 2 goalies have a combined total of 100 NHL games between the 2 of them.......especially a team like the rangers who seem poised to take a big step forward next season. - sensarmy_11
Welcome to the 2009-10 LA Kings.... started the season with Quick and Ersberg..
a couple of years later and Quick/Bernier hoisted the cup... just saying |

Unless the Kings trade Quick and are 100% confident Petersen is ready to step in as the #1, they aren’t in the market for a back up. - LAkings96
It's comical that people think LA is going to sign or trade for a goalie... only happens IF and when Quick is traded.. Petersen is ready to step up...

fair point, and a great example. my point stands though, NHL teams almost never run with 2 young goalies, they seem to like the "warm and fuzzy" feeling of having a vet, at least as a back up |

You are the only person who listed Philly amongst destinations. Curious why. We are very likely to go with the same duo of Hart and Elliott unless you saw something I missed.

Prolly because Elliot is a FA. I think they’ll retain Elliot as a back up, but it could come down to dollars. Lyon signed for 700k. Pretty certain they’re not comfy with him as a 2. He’s gonna be a Phantom with call ups as required.
Elliot got 2/year on a short term last time around. I don’t think he played himself out of that contract, but with this amount of goalies in the market needing a gig, he might need to take a little less to stick around. Maybe they think there could be value elsewhere, I dunno. Like I said, my guess is you’ll see him in the Orange and Black again. |

Seeing how Miller put his house on the market, Anaheim will be in the market possibly for a back up, but I doubt it’s Anderson who will probably want to play for a contender or retire. Hutton would be a more likely candidate in Anaheim instead of LA.
And like I said in an earlier comment, unless the Kings trade Quick and they’re 100% confident Petersen can’t take the wheel, the Kings aren’t in the market for a goalie.

Blues will most likely bring up Husso to back up Binnington to start the season. If that fails they will then look to the open market for a backup goalie. |

Think I've already made this comment . . . Elliot is UFA. Do you want him back that bad that the proposition of a possible upgrade is out of the question? Are you confident he even returns?

Not sure I agree. After Binnington's subpar playoffs, and with only 2 seasons of NHL experience and the possibility their best D-man moves to a new team . . . are you sure St. Louis doesn't want to lock down a more established backup now rather than later?
