I'd even take it a step more, we didn't didn't have garbarge rosters, in fact I would argue our Final team was one of the deepest in the league. Our main problem is that other than jagr, we never really had the one guy who could take over games. Gabby was close and is sort of unappreciated by fans, but by and large we just went through years and years of having tons of good, but not great players on the team.
Our roster that lost to the Bolts in the ECF was way better and deeper than the Hawks that year, but we didn't have a Kane that could just go into god mode. - 2sticks1puck
I would argue that Big D!ck Rick could do it, just not in the playoffs it seemed. |

Hank deserved better than the garbage rosters this team kept throwing out in front of him.

I think they'll make him an offer, not sure he'll come though.
I think a lot of what they'll do in net depends on if they can draft Askarov or not. |

but Askarov isnt coming this year anyway, so even if they drafted him, really Henrik would be a very good one year signing |

Even if you draft Askarov, you're not going to play him this year in the NHL are you? Hank on a one or two year deal seems possible. Any good private schools near Raleigh for his kids? |

I've said this before and I'll say this again. I really think Hank and the Devils are a perfect fit. He's clearly better than Cory and it's not like Blackwood is winning a Vezina anytime soon. You sign Hank for a year or two, sell some tickets, and Hank doesn't have to move out of his NYC home.
I know people would say that the fans would instantly turn on Hank, but let's be honest, no one has cared about the Devils in about a decade and even when they were good, you could argue they didn't crack NYR fans top 3 most hated teams list

Yes, but that's the thing. If they can get Askarov they'll be more likely to sign a one or two year deal with a guy like Lundqvist or Holtby or somebody.
If they can't get Askarov, they'll probably be more open to pursuing a more longer term solution like Lehner or Markstrom. |
