I'm finding it frustrating that something couldn't get done. I guess the interested team(s) saw value in letting the Rangers buy him out and have the cap on the books. They could then throw offers at him afterwards. No need to give anything up and they get to indirectly stick it to the Rangers at the same time.

Hank was all in on this decision. He gets paid whatever he chooses to do...or go, for that matter. I see Colorado or Boston as landing spots if he chooses to play next season. A one-year $2M deal is doable for either team.

He will definitely get an offer and Hank will pick the team he thinks has the best chance at a cup. If he gets lucky enough to win a cup next year, I bet he retires
