Starting to see Sanderon surpass Drysdale on quite a few draft boards. Saw a few with Sanderson in the top 5 now. |

Raanta over Kuemper would align well with the Blackhawks love for past players. Keep that train rolling.
@PuckReportNHL
Craig Morgan on SN650 says Antti Raanta is more likely to be traded than Darcy Kuemper because the crowded goalie market is depreciating his value. Adds the Arizona Coyotes could do “preliminary explorations” on Clayton Keller’s value. #Yotes |

I always look forward to this series. Yet, watching the trailer makes me think the videos will just be a bunch of people on Zoom calls.

A worse choice than Kuemper as a goaltender.
Three strikes against Raanta.
1. Fragile as glass and more injury prone than Crawford.
2. Burned his bridges a few years ago with his comments as still a member of the Hawks.
3. Way overpaid, albeit for only 1 more year, at 4.25M.
If Crawford is out of the picture I'd rather work out a deal for one of the CBJ goalies. |

Pierre LeBrun on Insider Trading says word over the past week is that the Columbus Blue Jackets are listening on both of their goalies Joonas Korpisalo and Elvis Merzlikins. Doesn't mean they'll move them, but if they do they'd like to acquire a center for their top six. #CBJ - Theo Fox
I sent in my "Who says no?" trade proposal for Laz and Powers on Twitter today of:
Rights to Dylan Strome, Nic Beaudin, 2021 2nd round pick to CBJ for Joonas Korpisalo and Riley Nash. (Edited from Smith).
--
Hawks get their future goaltender at $2.8M and a 3rd line C on an expiring deal.
CBJ gets their top 6 centre, a former 1st round D, and a pick for the future. |

I don't even think Hanifin is a marginal upgrade over Maatta. He skated better but that is about it. - Elbows15
Maata is a very smart Defenseman, if he was faster he'd be top 2. His only failing is he's slow and overpriced. |

Tyler, Strome is only top 6 on a bad team.

I'm with you on pursuing one of the CBJ goalies instead of either Kuemper or Raanta. Sorry, my post should have had red font.
Columbus is looking for top 6 help. Send them Strome or Nylander?
Here is what the Jackets forward lines looked like in the postseason:
Atkinson - Dubois - Bjorkstrand
Foligno - Jenner - Anderson
Nyquist - Wennberg - Foudy
Texier - Grigorenko - Nash |

Raanta would get kneecapped in the locker room. You think the defense doesn't play for Crow Raanta would face 80 shots a game and get run at by his own team.

Me too but I have this feeling that Raanta is on their radar. I wouldn't be shocked to see the former tender end up back in Chicago.
Although I still think there's a chance that Crawford is coming back. It just makes too much sense for both sides. Unless Crow wants to head to DET to get shelled every game. |

I don't know about that.
Maybe he's on the cusp but he's still only 23 years old and has shown he can produce at a solid rate in the NHL. |

Pitlick from Philly 4th line player physical slightly above average takes the body wins board battles 50/50 only downside is sometimes loses defensive coverage. 1 year 900k to 1 million not sexy but a role player with size and heaviness. - Scott1977
We need strong guys in the top 6, not 8 minutes a game. The only one we have is Saad. |

TC, How's the new business going? I think you have been working too hard. Riley Smith (edit - Nash?) really? He with 26 points the last two seasons! I know you want a C back if Strome goes to Columbus, but maybe Stan finds one elsewhere. Strome for Korpisalo is a good start, but needs some tinkering. I don't like giving up Beaudin and a 2nd either.
If Strome traded how about our man Cody Eakin for 3C. Probably get him on a cheap deal these days - 2M x 2 years. |

I could see a Hawks-Jackets trade looking something like that.
Not keen on giving up Beaudin but have to give to get.
Btw, did you mean Riley Nash rather than Riley Smith? |

Wouldn't it be so 2020 if Crawford signed with the Wings and the Hawks signed Howard? Please no to both. |

Strome is a 2C on many teams, IMO. Whether he's a good one is another question. As we're seeing here in Chicago, he's not a strong fit as a 3C and not quite good enugh to be 1C.
If Dach hadn't emerged so fast, I'd be perfectly fine with Strome as 2C and Strome developing at 3C for the first few seasons. |

It sure wouldn't be the Jackets. In essence this is the trade. 2 1st rounders, a 2nd for a back-up goalie with some terrible metrics who never has been a starter and a slightly younger version of Zack Smith.
No offense but this would be an absolutely poopty deal for the Hawks. |

I wouldn't be keen on that trade at all. Calling Nash a 3C is very generous. Kampf is better. And cheaper. Korpisalo has never been a #1 and his hasn't been vg as a back-up sporting 2 seasons of sub .900 SV%. Yes, he played well in the playoff but you wanna trust that going forward? I rather run with the goalies they have instead of throwing away assets. |

Pitlick would be a 4 line checker that can be physical win board battles and go to front of the net not be a top 6 forward just told player so other players in Rockford could get one year of seasoning just an option. |

If he can land a goalie then I move him. If not, I think keeping him is smart. |
