It is well known I am not the biggest Stromet fan but he absolutely could work as a 3C in Chicago. Give him at least one strong 2-way winger and he would do well bum-slaying. Toews, Dach and Kampf can handle more of the D zone responsibilities and Strome gets heavily sheltered zone starts.

I could see a Hawks-Jackets trade looking something like that.
Not keen on giving up Beaudin but have to give to get.
Btw, did you mean Riley Nash rather than Riley Smith? - Theo Fox
I did. Sorry long day.
I'll take Rilet Smith though too. Ha. |

TC, How's the new business going? I think you have been working too hard. Riley Smith (edit - Nash?) really? He with 26 points the last two seasons! I know you want a C back if Strome goes to Columbus, but maybe Stan finds one elsewhere. Strome for Korpisalo is a good start, but needs some tinkering. I don't like giving up Beaudin and a 2nd either.
If Strome traded how about our man Cody Eakin for 3C. Probably get him on a cheap deal these days - 2M x 2 years. - boilermaker100
Business is picking up! Thanks BM100.
Ha. Yes. I meant Nash.
I'm not in love with him as a player, I just added him to level out the deal.
You know I loves me some Eakin. Sign me up for him as the 3C if they coild get him. |

I wouldn't be keen on that trade at all. Calling Nash a 3C is very generous. Kampf is better. And cheaper. Korpisalo has never been a #1 and his hasn't been vg as a back-up sporting 2 seasons of sub .900 SV%. Yes, he played well in the playoff but you wanna trust that going forward? I rather run with the goalies they have instead of throwing away assets. - Elbows15
Sounds a lot like a guy named Cristobal Huet.

I agree with Tyler a little muscle on Strome and the light could go on he emerges off the cusp to a plus bottom 6 Center with Toews and Dach 1/2. Add Strome and Kampf and we're actually strong at Center for a change but a lot depends on Strome taking a big step. He's cheap enough we can wait and find out at least for a year.

I sent in my "Who says no?" trade proposal for Laz and Powers on Twitter today of:
Rights to Dylan Strome, Nic Beaudin, 2021 2nd round pick to CBJ for Joonas Korpisalo and Riley Nash. (Edited from Smith).
--
Hawks get their future goaltender at $2.8M and a 3rd line C on an expiring deal.
CBJ gets their top 6 centre, a former 1st round D, and a pick for the future. - Tyler Cameron
So did I... Seabrook for Cory Schneider. |

Starting to see Sanderon surpass Drysdale on quite a few draft boards. Saw a few with Sanderson in the top 5 now. - Theo Fox
I always said they were close, and although both might come off a lot earlier that I would think k.... but I do nt understand how any of the teams can pass on this fearly orward group to select them.... |

Why would Vancouver want him? I would think they would want a more defensive oriented defenseman, they already have Hughes. |

OEL to Canucks would mean Markström, Virtanen and more are on their way out the door with Tanev.
That deal seems far too rich for Bruins but who knows when you think you are close, you take chances to lengthen the playoff challenges...

I am with you, give him help and see if he progresses. No one is offering him big dollars and he has to take what he can get so he is stuck with us and we have to Bri g the b gets out of him, not panic and take any deal. |

Plus VAN will have to extend Hughes and Petersson soon. Boston supposedly his preferred destination. Either spot will require additional moves to fit him in.

I can see the Bruins wanting him, their window is open, and they need LD help as Krug is gone, and even if Chara is back, he isn’t t top 4 anymore. |

Wonder what the Yotes want in return. Bruins have no 2020 1st. Ask for Debrusk, Grzleyck, 2020 2nd, 2021 1st?

Yes you did tell me this about those dmen several months ago
I saw Proman draft thoughts and am struck by how he reports how difficult it is to guess whom goes where in round one. This just shows how much you Bill must spend like most of your hours awake and some time in dreams, too, trying to figure it all out. Each new rumor but this draft you have to keep in mind what GM's might be under orders from owner to cut payroll and as well the impact from Expansion draft. I mean this entry draft is all about the future since maybe only a couple 2020 drafts play NHL immediately. Whom to draft, whom is coming off the books this or next year, is a team pipeline lacking for example a new age dman. How about Toronto. Whom might they draft.i..........is one of their top guns possibly going to get moved after one more season? Does that suggest drafting a forward when the team needs a dman. |

I don't mind Nash but more so as a 4th liner especially if it's just for one year.
As for the Columbus goalies, my preference would be to aim for Merzlikins since both him and Korpisalo are being shopped.
I'm surprised that Merzlikins is available, actually. |

The trade is basically 2 1st rounders, a 2nd for a 4C and a goalie with a 33 game resume in the NHL? Does that seem like a good use of assets? To me, it doesn't.
If Bowman makes a trade like that he should be fired on the spot. |

Careful. This might earn you a “Posse” callout.
Me too I suppose as I agree. As much as I like the idea of a better skater and 200’ player at 3C, as Elbows mentioned, maybe put Strome with some decent 200’ wingers and let them bumslay as a 3rd line.
I don’t know if Hagel can make the team out of camp, but the one game he had made you think he could be a good 3rd line fit. I know...one game, but would like to see more of what he can do. He’s got pretty good pace and looks to be another puck hound like Highmore with a bit more skill.
Will be interesting to see where Suter ends up in the lineup too. I think technically he could start in RFD, but they seem pretty sure like Kubes he’ll be with the Big Club to start. |

Is Strome really going to be "3"C. I would assume ADB will be lining up on his left side next season. If Kane is on the right, does that make Kane the "3" RW?

Sorry but that trade proposal by tyler was not good if i m trading beaudin I'm trading him for in package to a top 6 power forward or 3rd line 2 way physical good at the dot center not 4th line center and fringe starting goalie. |

How do you know when a recently drafted early draft selection like Evan Bouchard are on the outs?

I'll put together a counter-offer centered around either Merzlikins or another goalie other than Korpisalo, Kuemper, or Raanta.
I'd be interested to hear what others would trade instead to acquire Merzlikins, Korpisalo, Kuemper, Raanta, or another goalie.
These 4 goalies from the Jackets and Coyoes have just been mentioned in rumors. The goalie doesn't have to be one of them. |
