I swear if they trade this pick I am done with the franchise...don't frank this up |

Easy, you're gonna make me go off topic and I'm trying real hard today. - JRR1285
haha
going back to Stamkos, I just dont believe he wants to leave Tampa and he has the say to block any trade
so to me any Stamkos speculation is just a waste of time, unless we just assume that every player wants to be a Ranger no matter what |

With the Hank buyout and this looming pick/free agency/crazy period they need to do everything right. They better wow me with something to justify getting another 3mil in cap space after sending Staal to Det. Make this worthwhile. |

Yea I honestly don't think they would give up a 2nd for Staal unless they had something else up their sleeve. Should be interesting |

that would be downright crazy if they did right after buying out Lundqvist
but realistically, they arent trading it, but if they did, the return would definitely be insanity |

Totally valid point. Though I'd have to say that not many players DON'T want to be a Ranger. So if Tampa asks Stamkos if he's willing to waive to go to NY maybe he considers it. If Tampa is willing to cut him loose to save money that can't feel good from the players side. Once you go down that road you can't "un-ask" him that question.
Only one player I can think of recently where he didn't want to play here, and it was Tavares. |

Unless it's for McDavid I don't (frank)ing care. Use this pick or I am going wherever Hank lands. |

I feel the team does have something up their sleeve, but don't forget the rumor is that the cap will go down for next season. Is it possible the team is just trying to be ahead of the curve on this one? If that does happen, a ton of notable players are going to take a serious haircut on their next contracts. Could see massive buyouts around the league.

The only thing better than having a potential superstar player, is having him at a minimum salary cap salary for the first 3 years. That is one of the biggest parts of this |

But for real, if Hank wants a chance at a cup NJ is never going to be an option, not right now anyway. |

You savage (frank). - JRR1285
I'll be honest with you, as someone who thinks Lundqvist is the greatest Ranger of all time, who defended him like a pitbull until 2017, I really dont think he has anything left, so if he signed with a rival, I'm just not scared of facing him
as someone who loves the guy, I wish he would retire so he doesn't look like Namath on the Rams |

If he retires I am going to take issue with that. That means that the organization was unwilling to help him recoup the money he would have lost. I have to assume he is going to play. Not worried about facing him. I'm just worried about the Rangers doing something meaningful with the cap savings. |

To reiterate Jimbo's post. I also believe he is the greatest Ranger of all time. It's not even close. He brought them out of obscurity and carried them on his back at times. He barely missed out on the ultimate prize. I really thought he was going to get to 500 wins. |

if he retires, than he did it because he felt he was entitled to that last 4.5 million he was owed, or whatever it worked out to be after the buyout
it bothers me for sure, but at this point, I'm like whatever |

It does bother me on his end too. If he retires post buyout everyone looks bad, including him. He could have saved them the whole cap space but "screwed them".
Hell, I'd feel pretty entitled too if I had his resume.
Let's get back to talking about trades that are never gonna happen. |

We talked about this. I better just buy the Devils jersey now.
Point and Sergachev + and I'll start talking.
