Loui and Brock for Oel sign toffolli |
|
|
|
Ok you teased me lol
Hughes AP (7/9m)
Edler Myers
OJ Benn
Rathbone Rafferty
Let Tanev walk to help get AP.
-Cernak 5/4.2m is more preferred over AP
Use ELC’s to save cap.
Go 8 D & trade out F’s.
-Sutter, Jake, Roussel maybe Gaudette
Gaudette is only if a very good return
Loui to Utica if no takers.
-Ottawa is a potential option
Resign Motte & Leivo
Resign Marky if no NMC 5/5.5m
Toffoli 5/5m
Didn’t do a capfriendly ACGM to see how it looks now or for next year & beyond. - Nighthawk
I have my doubts about Markstrom re-signing and am fine with that, as I would prefer to see Canucks get younger.
Cernak would be an excellent acquisition, as would OEL, but he is costly.
This team needs a big strong agile defender, like a Brandon Carlo or Cernak type.
An upgrade at 3C is also needed |

Loui and Brock for Oel sign toffolli - Jkuzzi
Can we all just take this limp di ck of an idea out of our collective asses? OEL – while a great hockey player – is going into decline, and is not worth trading away good young assets for. |

Dhaliwal: Not sure OEL deal happens, but #Canucks are trying. OEL has 10 team trade list, but he wants to play for VAN or BOS, but not sure how Canucks fit his salary into roster.
Dhaliwal: OEL demands have handcuffed Coyotes, but I don't see anything imminent on the trade front
—————————————————————————
A few minutes ago, Canucks don’t have the cap space to make this happen and they’re not exactly flush with can’t miss prospects. I just don’t see it happening. Rather sign a UFA dman and keep our future 1st round pick.
Arizona doesn’t want salary or deadweight back. |

OEL would be a huge upgrade, but the timing probably isn't right for a move like that. |

That and the Canucks don't have the cap space because of the bottom heavy 6. |

Yes he would, but as is being reported. Arizona wants to reduce real dollars and they want players back that’ll make them competitive, so Eriksson is a non starter, which means the Canucks don’t have the cap space to make it happen.
I mean they could trade Boeser for him, but that doesn’t make the team better and it chews up an additional three million dollars in cap space you NEED to make your roster competitive. |

Of all the missteps that JB has made, LE was the absolute worst. Not being able to see the long term impact of that stupid contract is mind boggling. |

If Arizona doesn't want cap space back, then it's basically dead for Vancouver.
He'll go to Boston as they can take the cap hit without sending big contracts back. He basically replaces Krug – and probably makes that team a little better defensively in the short term. |

LeBrun: I'm not exaggerating when I say from the day the #Canucks season ended and, Benning may have phoned every team in the league to try and move money out. No stone's been unturned, all the GMs have heard from Benning. He's working very hard to try and move money out.
LeBrun: Coyotes would have to eat some of OEL contract to make it work in Vancouver
——————————————————————————
Coyotes do not want to retain any money, apparently, so probably not a fit in Vancouver. |

On this day in 1997, the Canucks named Mark Messier captain (sorry weedwood)
