just said,

"Canucks have offer on the table for Ekman-Larsen and are awaiting Coyotes' reply."

I sure hope with all our cap issues we can still be compliant . Oh my.

I had OEL in my hockey pool last year and he puts up very good numbers. I know it is a fantasy pool but some nights you would see 8 shots on goals and usually about 2 hits a game. We all know about his offence but I believe I heard he had more hits last year than any Canucks.

He probably has about 5 or 6 good years left and it does remove the problem of finding your next Edler.

That is my take.

i think it's going to be troublesome in the long run especially in a flat cap world to have 3 players making approx $27ish M.

i like OEL as an all around dman but this seems like a contract that will hurt the closer they come to the cup.

that's my take.

+1

I don't think giving up a lot of assets for him is going to help the team, especially if Arizona isn't taking back LE + holding onto 2mil of his deal. Adding to the cap problems down the road is just another headache to deal with.

To be honest, if he was a RHD, I'd probably be more inclined to. But having him and Hughes on the left side doesn't seem like the smartest plan.

I think it could be troublesome in the later years but it will also be very good in the early years. There is always solutions , cross that bridge in five years .

I remember Edler had a really bad year when he was thirty and bounced back and has been Canucks best all around Dman since then .

i think in 5 years is when the team should be established as a real top contender. that's why i'm worried about this contract.

Exactly. Would rather get a package together for a younger guy that will be peaking when the rest of the team is.

that's what i was thinking as well.

i'm of the opinion that this will be a busy off season. there should be players available that wouldn't otherwise be. i would think (hope) that there is a rfa-aged dman that a cash strapped team is worried about going forward. someone who is going to get a big contract on his next deal that the team won't be able to afford. i haven't thought about it enough to think of potentials.

it's this type of player that i wouldn't mind benning going after even though the cost will be higher.

will this calibre player be available? i don't know. perhaps not but i'd rather get a guy who can grow into an 8.25m deal than one who's already there.

OK, I have to ask. What is the $975 000 all about?
