Or maybe people have run out of things to talk about? Kind of like what’s happened in here. - bloatedmosquito
Well.....a RNH contract extension is almost complete, according to Twitter, Lordy should be happy |

Pretty quiet out there in twitterverse, maybe the calm before the storm? - Pacificgem
I have been wondering about that since yesterday. No team is signing contracts unless they are AHL contracts. Something is curious. |

No figures, Frank Seravalli reporting it, senior writer for TSN.
“Talks continue to progress between #Oilers and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on a long-term extension. Not done, and not close, but positive developments in last 24 hrs.” |

Found this interesting, he’ll have made 100 million dollars playing hockey
“Also worth noting, though he doesn't count as dead cap space because it was a compliance buyout, #NYR is still paying Brad Richards $1.05 million for each of next six seasons. Believe that will push Richards above $100 million in career earnings. Not bad, @BRichards_1991” |

How nice would it be to bring Sam Reinhart to Canucks ? even though he is a center he would be a great fit on Bo's line. |

I think he’s played wing mostly in the NHL and he’s slow, great PP guy though. |

He is one of the 10 fastest skaters in the show, McDavid said they are the only guys he’s ever trained with to be able to catch up with him from behind. - neem55
Interesting, I didn't know he trained with the Hughes boys |

Really? He was bought out by the Rangers in 2014 and retired in 2016. WTF?
Third round draft pick. Not bad indeed. |

Played two more years after the Rangers did a compliance buyout with him, one year with Chicago, one with Detroit.

I never once looked at Markstrom as our franchise goalie. I always though of him as the guy keeping the net warm until someone is ready. - VANTEL
Demko was always going to be the guy. It's just a shame how the timing worked out with Markstrom really hitting his stride, but going with youth and potential is the smart move right now. |

LISTEN @patersonjeff: Markstrom deal may come down to the wire; all other #Canucks UFA deals hinge on what Markstrom does. |

I still hope Markstrom signs here at 2x 4.5 but as they say No Chance in Hell comes to mind. The good thing is there are lots of options.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the goaltending situation moving forward. Always nice to have another good prospect percolating in DiPietro as well |

I was hoping the Canucks would poach a top scout from Tampa or Anaheim - Nucker101
Well Ploundowski hasn't signed yet so maybe Canucks will give him a call.
I'm not sure how teams are thinking about traditional scouting given the state of travel and lack of amateur leagues in play. A lot more emphasis on video analysis is the new norm now. |

At this point I want Toffoli and Tanev over him. Trade for an upgrade to Stetcher and sign a 1b to help share the work with Demko. |

I am pretty sure scouts will be allowed in the building and given seats far away from the other scouts. |

goaltending in the long term will be fine. if marky walks, that's a hit to next year's competitiveness but probably better in the long term.

I like JPat and Drance but to be honest I don't think anyone really knows. When guys like Dreger Freidman and Bob Mac are so quiet league wide with 9 days left to go has to say a lot . Very few teams have signed their RFAs and fewer UFAs.
I don't know if GMs are waiting to see the first ball drop so they get an idea of what the industry will pay this year or are they waiting to see what deals are available on Oct 9?
