Hearing multiple teams have contacted Arizona about forward Lawson Crouse. The winger is still only 23 years old. #coyotes |

I still hope Markstrom signs here at 2x 4.5 but as they say No Chance in Hell comes to mind. The good thing is there are lots of options. - VANTEL
Short term like 2 years is probably why that $7M per was brought into play. I'd still think giving him $20M instead of $14M will get it done on a 4 year deal.

How nice would it be to bring Sam Reinhart to Canucks ? even though he is a center he would be a great fit on Bo's line. - VANTEL
Yup, and JB loves him. Tried to trade up.

I like JPat and Drance but to be honest I don't think anyone really knows. When guys like Dreger Freidman and Bob Mac are so quiet league wide with 9 days left to go has to say a lot . Very few teams have signed their RFAs and fewer UFAs.
I don't know if GMs are waiting to see the first ball drop so they get an idea of what the industry will pay this year or are they waiting to see what deals are available on Oct 9? - VANTEL
Maybe they’re all just talking about deals to clean out cap space before the draft. Then you might see a lot of deals, but then again maybe it won’t be as busy as everyone thinks? |

Like Vantel says, guaranteed 50 points a year but the cost would be prohibitive to acquire him. |

I am pretty sure scouts will be allowed in the building and given seats far away from the other scouts. - Retinalz
Building access was not the issue it was travel restrictions and lack of leagues to scout. |

I still think it will be very busy . I just don't know when it is going to start? Which RFAs are going to be available , which players will be traded, who is looking to move cap? It is an unique year.

Just have lots of irons in the fire for guys like that on your list, sooner or later you'll hit on one.

Buffalo are cheap bastards and trying to move salary because of internal cap. I think a deal like Jake a first and Rafferty could catch their interest . If Vancouver signed Reinhart at 4 x 5 then no need for Toffoli.

Yup...silly season fodder to debate. I just think if the Canucks are going after an RFA, it’ll be a defenceman. |

Buffalo isn’t cheap, they’ve spent to cap max every year since Pegula bought them, foolish so with no tangible results. Which is why Pegula purged the franchise rot recently. I know it’s been reported they’ve set an internal cap but I think that just the environment we’re in right now and perhaps Pegula is tired of spending to the max with no results. |

For sure! Again, if you go for it get a high end one. Easier said than done.

Freidman said a few weeks back Buffalo will have an internal cap this year.
In past years yes they have been spending to the cap.

Still, they’re not “cheap”, despite setting an internal cap this year. I just think Pegula allowed the Sabres GM’s to spend foolishly, not unlike Aquilini letting Benning spend foolishly while finishing at the bottom of the league for four years, so he wants to see some results before he opens up the spending again. Just my opinion.
Sabres aren’t in as bad of shape as most would believe, they’ve got some great young players and they only had six less wins than the Canucks. Goaltending is a big issue for them, which kinda saved the Canucks asses this year. |

Canucks were two wins from top 10
I agreed with you saying yes they have spent to the cap other years.
