Do you guys think Corey Perry will be looking for a contract? Or do you think Dallas gives him another one year with a decent salary? |

Miss the playoffs again. - Feds91Stammer
I don't think so. Despite the holes in the 3rd line and bottom pair and questionable goal-tending, the top of the lineup is too good. They have a lot to prove in the postseason, but regular season they were still a strong team. |

I think MAF has a lot to do with the fans reaction to him. There were people on this site and others openly cheering for Vegas to beat the Pens when those two would square off.
I'll give you a personal example. Last August, there was I guy I worked with for 14 years and he's a big Fleury fan. When he signed a new contract, I said Vegas was just stupid to give that extension and the amount to him. He hasn't spoke to me since. There is this unhealthy worship some Pens' fans have of him and they took it out on Murray. - stevens87
I like fleury a poop ton but it was the right thing to let him and go and not eventually give him that terrible contract. If ppl don’t understand that they need a better understanding of how hockey works. |

Bringing Fleury back would be a colossal mistake if either Jarry or Murray is around. The second something goes south with either one of them, the media is going to go nuts to make Fleury the starter. - j.boyd919
This doesn't worry me at all (maybe it should). I think bringing back Fleury would be a mistake because I don't think he's a good goalie anymore. He hasn't been good the past two seasons and has only one good season in the last four. This is pretty much the same as Murray, except Murray is 10 years younger. I don't think either are good options and would be a mistake.
I love Fleury, he is one of my favorite Pens of all-time, but it was the right decision to let him go when they did and I want no part of him now. We can bring him back on a sentimental reunion tour when the rebuild starts. |

I'd probably do it and then immediate buyout Sutter. $2M this year and then $1.2M next year. Pretty close to retaining half on JJ for one less year and we don't have to give up any assets to move him. He'd have to be the first player to be drafted, traded three times, and bought out by the same GM. |

Murray and JJ to Buffalo for Mittelstadt (so JR can say he got his 1st for Murray) and Colin Miller (JR has scouted him since Vegas and he does seem like a lateral swap in salary with a little more per year than JJ, but 1 less year). |

Would love to see him play for Pens brought it up last offseason as well. Just believe JR is looking at younger options |

What is the logic for Buffalo? I think we'd be lucky just to get Miller for Murray and JJ. Is Miller considered so bad or so overpaid that he has negative trade value? If he has neutral value, then I think it's a fair trade for just Miller. Murray and JJ cancel each other out, IMO, if we're lucky enough that a team wants (or will take) both. |

Yes, same. Not what he was but the guy can still play. Could be a cheaper fill in option for Horny but I bet he stays in Dallas |

I have proposed this same deal but without Middlestadt in it. Not sure Buffalo will be ready to give up on him yet.
I think with Miller you'd be getting a buy low guy who could do really well in the Pens system and fits a need. Id be really happy with this group:

I would do that in a heartbeat. One year of Sutter for 3 years of JJ? Hell yeah. I do t think they'd do it straight up but send them Simon maybe too?
I actually think he would be useful on the 4th line and worst case he gets injured and you have extra cap space to play with. |
