Is Johan Larsson better than Jack Eichel? His defensive statistics suggest he is. Is Jeff Skinner better than Sam Reinhart? His EV scoring suggests such. Is Ristolainen better than Dahlin? His hits and TOI suggests such.

I think you could make a case for both Skinner and Laine on the team, as long as you have the proper supporting casts for each. I personally see Skinner as a more valuable asset (if both are making 9M), provided he is playing with talented players.

I also realize plenty of people would rather have Laine. And that's fine.
